Great product!
I use this to back up my Macbook Pro to an Asustor AS-304T and it works great. Although this is an Asustor product, it doesn't mean it will only work with other Asustor products. It will connect your laptop or desktop to a LAN with no issues. I like the fact that it supports 2.5 Gigabit LAN for when I upgrade my NAS.

Buy this if you have an Apple Silicon Mac
I have been on a seemingly endless search for a 2.5 gigabit USB-C adapter that works with Apple Silicon Macs. This one works perfectly and has been really reliable so far and runs completely cool to the touch. It works even when plugged into my Studio Display's ports, which is a pleasant surprise. I ran iperf3 tests with it connected to the Studio Display and I'm getting > 2.3 Gbps speeds to another host on my network.I haven't had to do any configuration or anything. Worked immediately.Great job Asustor!

Works well on a PC but not a good value
It works on a PC quite well. Also versatile because it has a type C connector as well as a type A adapter. On the negative side: it is between two to three times more expensive than other adapters which are based on the same chipset. In this respect it does not represent a good value. I actually bought it to provide 2.5G connectivity to my QNAP 431P2, since it is a well known brand. It doesn’t work for this purpose.

Used on Synology nas
Skeptical that a usb network would provide reliable 2.5gb network speeds, but it does. Just make sure you line up the arrows on the adapter if you’re going to use it.Data transfers are fast, setup was straight forward using the GitHub drivers for the synology. Recommended it to a couple friends too.

Worth it!
You get the speeds it' promises. I paired it with the Asustor 2.5GB ethernet switch with my Asustor AS6704T NAS's 2.5GB port and my uploads speeds went up by at least 5 times.

New chipset resolves heat issues, Don't buy anything else,
This uses the revB of the chipset which fixes the overheating issues other similar devices have. No thermal throttling.

it works but not as rated
This works and I have even gotten up to 200mbits through put about double that of gigabit ethernet. I have not gotten 2.5 and for the most part it is as slow as using the 1 gigabit ethernet ports in my NAS. Any transfer over a gig or so and I think it starts to get hot and then performance declines. sometimes all the way to as low as 20mbits. over all it has not been worth the money. Sadly other than a usb ethernet adapter I have no other way to increase through put from the NAS.

Needs driver update
The driver it comes with doesn't work on Windows 11. After you install it, grab an updated one from Realtek's site or let Windows Update find one.Transfers at 250MB/s for my entire 10 gig test file. Which is about 2.25-2.3x the normal 1 gig speed. Can be finicky in Thunderbolt USB Type C ports, may require replugging or even rebooting at times.
