Beautiful muted red. Not to forget; lips has to be moisturized well before lipstick application as its quite drying. Its very comfortable on the lips though.

It is always hard for me to judge how a color is going to look on me before buying. It will always end up looking very different on my lips than it does in the tube. This one is a tad darker on my lips than I was planning but, by far, knocks it out of the park on matching my intentions. The liquid is velvety smooth going on. If you scrape the inside of the tube before applying, to get some of the excess off, it is super-easy to apply. This stuff holds like nobody's business for a very long time without any transfer when drinking or kissing. When I eat, it does come off on my napkin (especially with greasier foods), but even with the bulk of it gone, it leaves a light "tint" of color on my lips until I can properly apply it again later. I have been able to apply it first thing in the morning, have it last flawlessly until lunch, have it rub off down to an attractive "tint" after lunch, then reapply it before I leave work and have it last until dinner or beyond. Finally, it is weightless and not the least bit sticky (unless I try to top it with some chapstick) and does not dry out my lips like every other similar product has. My daughter is the one who introduced me to Lime Crime and I am so grateful.

...but what a great color Riot is! Indeed, it is a gorgeous velvet matte finish, vastly superior to Maybelline, and did I mention that color!? Cons: It would greatly benefit from the arrow applicator that Maybelline has and while yes, it is smudge and transfer resistant, it does not last even half as long as Maybelline and is twice the price. I absolutely will buy it again though because that color is just BEAST!

I tried this after hearing rave reviews from a makeup artist friend... the color is great, very wearable, perfect for makeup looks that are on the orange or brown end of the spectrum instead of the pinky purpley end. I've been on the neverending search for the perfect liquid lipstick - I've tried so many that people rave about but that just crumbled and wore off within an hour two of talking and sipping water (like Dose of Colors, ColourPop, and TheBalm's Meet Matt(e) Hughes) - this formula smelled delicious (sweet and chocolatey), and if I prep my lips (exfoliate/moisturize) before application, it wears a LONG time before needing a touch up, usually after eating (the one thing that most liquid lipsticks can't survive - especially if you're eating oily foods). I've found that if I gently wipe away anything that is starting to wear away or crumble around my inner lips before reapplying, I can 'touch up' and reapply and have it last the rest of the day beautifully.

A little lime crime story..... My mother is in a nursing home and she loves her makeup so I brought the beet it deep berry velveteen; its a beautiful purplish color on her and and this day she had a mouth injury of some kind, it was minor so she went to her usual dialysis treatment this day and there she gets a blood thinner and so at the end of her 4 hour treatment she began to bleed profusely and ultimately ends up going to the emergency room and mind you these folks are putting gauze on and in her mouth and towels and such to stop the bleeding and then same thing at the hospital. So funny thing is its like 10 p.m. now and shes being discharged from the ER and a sweet little nurse comes in and says " WOW that is a beautiful lip color" your mother has on. I laughed because with all this excitement we never reapplied her lip stick. it stayed on perfectly through out the day even with blood water and gauze and towels applied to it!!! LIME CRIME ROCKS!!!!
