A good balance of quality and price
I have a VAG car, and while the oft-called "Widowmaker" jack provided with VAG spare tyre kits will get you out of a tight spot, they have a reputation for instability and the metal to metal contact on the sill means more than occasional use will have you down to bare metal on your jacking point sooner or later. My search for a better jack on Amazon led me to the Heyner range of jacks, of which there is quite a wide range. I chose the 2 ton version because I figured it would be the least likely to fail when jacking up my car. I then had to work out which version of the 2 ton jack I would order, as there are a few variations, but eventually I settled on this kit with the ratchet tool. The jack is well-made, mostly from formed thick sheet steel riveted together, with substantial rivets. The central lifting screw seems strong and the square thread is cleanly formed. The jack raised and lowered with a bit of a squeak when I first tried it, so I put some grease on both of the threaded holes the lifting screw passes through, and that sorted the squeak out.The rubber pad which makes contact with your car has a slot for the sill seam which is about 10mm wide, which for me is a good fit on my jacking point. (See pic). The pad rotates, but not freely. So once set in position, it stays put.The standard handle is awkward to use when the jack is low, but the ratchet handle makes life a lot easier and allowed me to quickly and easily raise my car. There's a good clearance between the ratchet handle and the side of my car in the pic I've uploaded, but bear in mind that as the jack raises, that clearance reduces somewhat, but not so much that jacking the car is a problem. The ratchet itself looks and feels a little cheaper in the flesh than it does in the product pictures, and I've tried to capture that budget look and feel in my pic of it. That said, it works perfectly well and is lightweight, so I have no complaints. I would definitely buy the jack with the ratchet tool, as the standard "turn and then swing round for next turn" handles are always annoyingly awkward to use on scissor jacks. At least the clip retaining the standard handle is easy to remove, and then can be refitted to the handle for storage. Talking of storage, everything fits back into the provided storage bag without a struggle to cram it in.Designed in Germany then made in China might put some people off, but what it really means is that you're getting a well designed product manufactured at a price that's more palatable. I'm very pleased with this jack and I wholeheartedly recommend it. I hope this review and the pictures I've uploaded help you with your buying decision.

Expensive, but appears to be very solidly put together
I'm very impressed with the build quality of this car jack. The ratcheting tool, makes it so much faster to raise an lower a car than a traditional scissor jack! The case keeps everything together nicely too.

Strong and supplied with carry case
Excellent jack used to lift a very heavy EV - no problems. Nicely designed with a handle or ratchet mechanism. I like the case which is large enough to contain a wheel wrench too (not supplied). Perfect.

Jack up using professional / high torque cordless drill/driver with 17mm socket attached
Good for self sufficient DIY motorist. Wish this was available some years earlier. Some cars in recent years fo not come with a jack, and not even a spare tyre in the competition to gain maximum miles per gallon or miles per electric charge. So it's a pain in the neck for motorist to buy a jack which suits the car and not every jack does.First jack I bought was sciissor jack similar to this one. But it was slow to use. Next jack I bought for my present car was a bottle jack (for I didn't want a trolley jack to take up space in a garage. Also it is not practical to carry a trolley jack in the car all the time. It leaked oil. With wheel changes to all 4 wheels every summer and winter (change of tyres for the seasons) it was getting tedious and hard work. Thus more or less forced to get a trolley jack which is easier to pump up and let down even though it took up space. But less than 5 years in even this trolley jack leaked hydraulic oil. Concluded that, due to not being used every day like a professional garage, the oil seals in the jacks get dried up and perished.11 years later found this jack on Amazon. The difference to the first jack is that it provides a choice to use a lever to jack it up or use a 17mm socket. Hurray ! The car wheel nuts are also 17mm. Anyhow, attach 17mm socket to half inch square drive; insert drive into the chuck of good branded battery drill (I usually use DeWalt 18V or Bosch 14.4V) and the car could be jacked up and down in seconds !Being so small and with carry bag and ratche handle, it could even stay in the car when not in use ready for that emergency (but then stumped by car manufacturers not providing spare wheel) !I think Heyner produces 3 sizes of the same design but I chose the heavy duty as it is for a 4 wheel drive and it is used 4 x 2 wheel changes per year which is a lot for a scissor jack.UpdateUsed the jack for changing from winter tyres to summer tyres on the car (all 4 wheels). First used DeWalt DCD796 cordless drill/driver and nearly broke my wrist. My fault for using it one handed and press of the trigger sent the drill twisting round very quickly. Took me by surprise. Thereafter used this two handed and everything went well. Think this drill is rated 75Nm for torque. For comparison tried it with an old DeWalt (with clip on 18V batteries) forgot name of model but it is rated 65 NM torque. This was fine and could be used one handed. Then tried a Bosch domestic/DIY model (i.e. green colour rather than blue coloured for professional model range). This was no good, it didn't have enough torque to jack up the car with this jack.Update some more. Found another use for this. Due to it being able to go to a low height, was able to slide it under a new dishwasher being installed; jack it up then adjust the front legs until those small legs touches ground. Released jack then level the back leg. Checked with laser level. All good.

2T jack - Perfect for my bmw e90
I had to cut thin layer of rubber from both sides to fit my e90 jacking slot but other than that awesome quality looking jack with a carry/storage bag.It also came with a 17mm box spanner which was very useful for me to slide it on a ratchet wrench to extend the handle length for leverage.I went for 2T because I wanted to be able to use it on suv as well.

Arrived broken clip retaining winding arm. Very difficult to remove.
I was unable to return the whole unit due to travelling the next day. I was eventually able to remove the broken clip and there is a single spare in the kit.As it is I will be using the ratchet as a preference.

Seems well made, holds up a Tesla Y
I bought this as an emergency jack for my Tesla, which is a very heavy car. I used it to change the wheels this year, and it appeared to work. As with any scissors jack, I wouldn't rely on it to hold the car up while working underneath, of course, but for changing the tires, it seemed to do the job. (I bought a set of those rubber hockey pucks with the nipple in them to go into the Tesla mounting holes, and slid this jack under those.)The ratchet is a nice touch, works well, reversible. I didn't need to use the extension, but including that is a nice touch in case you need to slide the jack too far under the car (i.e., the door panel sticks out) to use the ratchet.I bought this because of the case. It's nice, holds everything together in the trunk. I like it.
