The Therapist: A gripping psychological suspense crime thriller from the Sunday Times bestselling author of Behind Closed Doors : Paris, B A: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Compeling - I really enjoyed the book. At one point I couldn't tell what was real and who to point the finger at. Surprised by the twist and content wit the ending. Highly recommend Review: Fast Paced, Enjoyable Read. - The Therapist has been on my TBR for a while, and on a whim I decided to read it. I really enjoyed this book. Although Alice drove me a little crazy throughout the book, I still found her likeable. I read this book in just under a day. Always the same with a B A Paris book. They are always unputdownable. Lots of twists and turns. Rating 4 stars because I had figured out who the bad guy was. Even though I knew who it was, I was still left shocked by some of the twists. If you are looking for a fast paced, easy read then I highly recommend this.

I really enjoyed this book and read it in a day, eagerly moving on to the next chapter to see what happens next, i had guessed some of the ending but was pleasantly surprised at the twists! I’m enjoying this authors books, like her style of writing, it flows so easily and grips me quickly.

Good beach read thriller
The Therapist is an everyday no-frills beach read that it easy to devour and follow. It is about a housewife and new homeowner come private investigator – or so she thinks. A woman who is determined to find out what happened to ‘The Therapist’, because Alice does not accept the stories that Nina Maxwell was killed by her husband. The Circle becomes home to Alice and Leo and after a short honeymoon period and domestic bliss, Alice senses there is something very wrong with the neighbourhood and within her home. The residents are tight lipped about the previous homeowner as it becomes apparent appearances are manicured and staged and there remains a dark secret just waiting to be uncovered. Couple of things that I disliked about this one The Circle is the setting, and we seem to go round and round in circles with the unrelenting Alice seizing every opportunity to slip into her detective guise and interrogate the neighbours. It got a little tiresome and repetitive at times as Alice never let up on her search for what happened to the previous owner. I also disliked that she seemed oblivious to the things going on around her and at times unwittingly stumbled into situations that exposed her to danger. Not my favourite type of character. I thought this book was ok but did not love it. There were a few tense moments as the thrill and danger surfaced. The plot was good with some interesting twists, if not a little predictable, and the pace is perfect for that easy beach read.

Gripping!
I was recommended this book by a friend and was not disappointed. The characters are well developed and easily likeable or detestable, in equal measure. The story is exciting and is fast paced with many twists and turns. As the plot develops there are glimmers of clues and if you are a fan of books by Claire Douglas, Clare Mackintosh or TM Logan , you may work out some key plot twists earlier! An enjoyable read!

A very scary tale indeed!
This was the most unexpected story which kept me gripped from start to finish. It actually made me feel quite anxious and distrustful of all the characters. Not until the very end do you find out the answers. This would make a brilliant TV drama and Keeley Hawes would be brilliant as the main character.

Good book, slow burner
Purchased this book after reading behind closed doors which was AMAZING. It prompted me to start this one, which is also good, the story line is amazing, great plot twist however the characters day to day gets a little repetitive. It’s a slow burner kind of hit it’s still worth the read.

A psychological thriller, very dramatic, starts of slow and quickens towards the end - this book is a highly entertaining and a very engaging read. I absolutely adored how the author has depicted each of her characters as extremely flawed and has highlighted the terrible issues in relationships that stem from lack of trust.

I had very high expectations after reading ”Behind closed doors”, and ~the therapist~ didn’t meet those expectations, it’s still good, but don’t expect it to be AS GOOD as ”Behind closed doors”
