Q: Does it works for coolpix p520?

Sorry, I'm not posiive about the p520. I have the p510 which it fits and works fine for that camera.

It's not a dumb question at all. I can only speak for lithium-ion batteries, but federal law REQUIRES these batteries be shipping HALF-CHARGED, not fully. Anyone who follows the news knows that there have been incidents when these batteries have caught fire in the cargo hold of airplanes. That's why the law is there, to reduce (can't eliminate) fire hazards at 35,000 feet. So when you receive it, put it on the charger for a couple hours before you use it. Easy peasy.
