A decent read, Dalgliesh is winning me over
When I first read Jason's books I wasn't convinced that he was as good as others believed him to be, after this yarn he is winning me over, I've become a convert. His stories have twists, all good yarns do, this time the storyline went from being predictable to wow I never expected that.If I had something to carp about it would be the DI 's surname, does any force employ a Jones, Smith, Brown or Blogs, the exotic names are becoming tedious.

Love, love, love these books
I’ve read all of The Dark Yorkshire books and all The Hidden Norfolk books. I started with the Norfolk books and went onto the Yorkshire. I don’t normally read things like this but once opened you can’t put them down. Plots are amazing, characters spot on. The addition of detail regarding the location makes you feel your there

A rather disappointing ending.
If this IS the final book in the Dark Yorkshire series as several commenters have said; and so far it seems to be as there hasn't been another since this was published in 2019, the ending was a let down. Will we ever hear from Caslin again I wonder! This book didn't have me gripped like the others. A serial killer who commits quite gruesome murders, is at large. This person has a penchant for Buddhism. I flicked most of the pages when the ins and outs of the precepts were explained, which I didn't understand. One would expect that the killer would; at some point in the plot, be known to the reader, but in fact he/she didn't show up until the very end. All in all, I was quite disappointed.
