Neta Jackson does it again.
This wonderful second book of the series following Gabby and her life changing experiences in Chicago was a thrill to read. I had a hard time putting it down. Initially, I bought the third book before reading the second and had to go back and download the second after realizing i was out of order. Neta Jackson has such a way of really making you connect with each character. I even cried at some parts while standing in line at the County Tax Appraisors office. (kind of weird when you're waiting to get your vehicle registration sticker renewed to see someone crying while looking at their phone.) Now, I realize there are books for so many of the other characters in the book series that I can't wait to get through the third book of the series.

Sad and depressing to read.
I love this author. I love the Yada Yada Prayer Group series. This book however, the main character Gabby, seemed to make the weirdest choices and someone I could not identify with. It was a sad, depressing book to read. Then it ended abruptly. Fortunately, we can find out what happens in the Harry Bently books and book 2 of the Manna House series which seem to have gotten back to more normal characters and choices. It is worth reading then continue to continue the series.

what do I talk to?
I loved this book, I have enjoyed everyone of Neta Jackson's books, in the Yada Yada series, I have read both of the House of Hope books, and look forward to more.Neta Jackson gives us stories we can all relate to. You go into each heart of the people involved. Looking into eyes of the bag lady that before you would try not to notice, those are the things that touch my heart. The love and hurt everyone goes through at some point in our lives. I have learned no one escapes some kind of trial, just or unjust. We all have issues.Thank you Neta Jackson for touching my heart with your stories, and love to pass them on and give them for gifts to friends who would not have otherwise read one of your stories. You are bright light in my world.God Bless You.Leslie A Mitchell

Who Do I Talk To?
Great series! Neta Jackson is one of my favorite Christian authors and I love, love, love this series. I couldn't wait to start reading this book to find out what happened, because book number 1 (Where do I go?) ended with such a bang. What a rollercoaster ride of emotions. There are times I want to grab Gabby and shake her, but then there are other times my heart aches for her. The books are so good; I could just spend the entire day reading. Neta delivers a great story as usual, but just like the Yada Yada Series, I am reminded of God's goodness with the turn of each page.

Good sequel to first book in series but story line drags on and on.
This is the second book in the 'House of Hope ' series. This book made for easy reading, but took forever to get thru the story. I really didn't need so many details of her driving around and several times in the story small scenes seemed to be thrown in for no reason whatsoever, but the story was OK. If you are reading this book because you wanted to see what happened after the first book, then you should go ahead and read it. If I was reading this as my first book I would not bother to read anymore.

Somehow, not as compelling as "Where Do I Go?"
Neta Jackson's "Who Do I Talk To" is the second book in her four-part Yada Yada House of Hope series. In book #1 ("Where Do I Go?"), we meet dutiful housewife, Gabrielle Fairbanks, who recently moved to Chicago with her wealthy husband to support his business career. Unfortunately, Philip shows himself to be self-centered and emotionally-abusive. After Gabby takes a position serving as Recreation Director at the local women's shelter and finds herself as the primary caretaker of her elderly mother, Philip decides to take matters into his own hands. He tosses her belongings out, changes the locks on their doors, and tells their two sons that "Mom can't take care of you anymore."The story picks up in book #2, "Who Do I Talk To," where Gabby learns to rely on her new Manna House friends and co-workers, as well as prayer and Bible study, for the strength to get through the difficult times she faces. The story is a nice reminder that even when things seem hopeless and desperate in life, one can take heart that there is a bigger plan at work. However, I've been trying to put my finger on why, exactly, I found #1 "Where Do I Go?" to be a much more compelling read than #2 "Who Do I Talk To?" Perhaps because in #1, I wanted to read to find out what kind of vile thing Philip would be up to next? Or maybe because in book #2, Gabby seemed like the self-centered one? She was so busy bouncing from one "Hey, this just might be crazy enough to work!" plan to the next, that she ended up putting her own wants ahead of her mother's healthcare. This, for me, resulted in a disappointing ending.
