Clip their nails before before they even know what's happening
These are awesome, no chance of snipping off too much nail or cutting other parts of the paw. Make sure to get the right size; you can contact the company for a sizing guide. I didn't know about the sizing guide and bought the wrong size (too big) the first time. All my cat are medium to large, 2.5 mm was too big, 2.0 mm was perfect and takes off plenty of nail without getting close to hurting them. Nail falls into the hole and gets snipped, so easy.

These are nice pet nail clippers for cats.
I didn't know what size clippers to buy so I purchased this size and another size with the thought of returning if they don't work. I also hoped the bigger ones would work for my small chihuahua dogs. The smaller ones worked okay for a cat nail, but the bigger ones were still too small for my chihuahua dogs. On the bigger ones I didn't do an exchange on them because I felt, though they might work well if I got a bigger pair, I was only allowed one free exchange. I felt as nice as they are they are too expensive even though they could be nice. These are like all pet clippers. It depends on how your pets nails are formed and thickness. If you have more than one pet with different sizes of nails, you could never afford to buy enough of these for each pet because they are too expensive. The way these clippers work it caused my chihuahua dogs too much pain. They were also too small to clip enough nail off and some of their nails were different sizes, so you might have to buy several different sizes to cut just one pets nails? The smaller ones for the cat would work fine (if my darn cat would let me cut his nails). Someday maybe my cat will let me use these on his nails, but if he never allows me to do this I have a small pair of expensive pet nail clippers I will never use? If they weren't so pricy they would be a good buy. Though they appear to be well made, I don't believe any hand pet nail clippers are worth the price I paid for them when I purchased them. They aren't that well made, not at that price. So it is the price that is why people should think twice before they buy them. I have other old pet nail clippers or even the human ones that I use work just as well. If your cat or dog won't hold still no pet clipper works. They say you get what you pay for, but by no means, even though they work on cats, they aren't worth the price. They aren't any more convenient to use than other pet nail clippers. Hope their price comes down. They ought to sell for cheap a chart to test if the small openings will work on people's pets before they pay the high price to have one of these delivered. Along with each clipper came a little cardboard card chart with holes in it where you could test to see which one of these nail clippers work on your pets. Remember you might need to buy more than one of these pet clippers if your dog or pet has different sized nails on their paws which many pets do. One size doesn't fit all nail sizes for this very restrictive size kind of pet clipper. Nice design but it just isn't applicable for even one pet much less if you have several pets. Maybe if they weren't so expensive you could afford 2 or 3 of these just for one or several pets? Nice design if it would work for all sizes of pet nails in one pair of these pet clippers or if they would just lower the price so people could afford to buy more than one pair to fit the need.

Much better than traditional nail clippers
Much better than traditional nail clippers which cause the nail to split. Also much more comfortable for the kitties. I was able to clip their nails much faster and with little fussing on their end.

Not bad for neonate puppies
I foster abandoned kittens and puppies. I hate using the regular claw cutters on neonates because their nails are so tiny. I’m afraid I will cut a tootsie on accident. The xxsmall is still way too big for a one week old puppy, but I was able to make it work very carefully. Tiny babies are so easy to manipulate at this age, they have no idea what’s happening while they sleep. What made it so simple was being able to hook a tiny claw in the hole just enough to hook it in there and then slowly cut to ensure I wasn’t cutting more than necessary. The shorter toes and dewclaws will have to wait until the paw grows a little bigger, but at least I won’t be getting clawed while bottle feeding. 😇I wish they had a .5 or .25 mm so I could cut with more confidence. I haven’t tried it on a neonate kitten, but I’m pretty sure it will be too big for them as well until they hit upwards of 6-7 weeks. Wouldn’t wait until then to start clipping unless you want to traumatize the poor baby 😆.I’m definitely getting the small size for my own young dog. I’m hoping this may help us get through trims a lot faster 😊. I just hope I sized her correctly 😆

Genius
These clippers are perfect for our 6 month old kitten. The action is quick and it’s not scary for the cat or me, as I know I’m not going to cut too far and hurt her.

Great quality -one snip and done.
Great quality, easy to use (once kitty’s subdued), highly recommended.

Fiddly to use
The clippers are sturdy and well made and they are spring loaded, but then the problems start. The smaller the opening and the smaller and more fragile the bird, the harder they are to use safely.Essentially, the bird has to be held gently but firmly with the claws on one foot exposed and held immobile. Then the tip of one claw has to be put into the clipper hole to cut it. While that goes on, the rest of the claw and quick are obscured. The smaller the hole and nail, the more complicated this seemingly easy procedure becomes. And unless you are a professional, it’s a 2 person job.I bought the clipper with the smallest 1.5 mm hole and it is still a little too big for a cockatiel, much less even smaller birds like a budgie. My husband and I managed to restrain our cockatiel gently and safely. However grabbing one foot and isolating one claw, that kept flexing was not easy. We managed to poke the tip into the tiny hole without the bird moving it bit it was not easy. But we managed to get 7 out of 8. On the last one the bird pushed at the last second and, since the hole was too big, I clipped the quick and it started bleeding profusely. I had styptic powder ready, just in case and stopped the bleeding but of course that was traumatic for bird and owner.I imagine that the larger the bird and its claws, the easier and perhaps safer the clipping will go. But the wrestling match with a bigger bird and claws and beak would be more intense.Good concept but needs work.
