Mayo Clinic Neurology Board Review (Mayo Clinic Scientific Press) 2nd Edition

The published should be ashamed at the lack of quality of the binding of this book (which they apparently have not fixed). Unlike the well made first edition, the pages fall out after a couple of turns. I hope Mayo uses a different publisher next time. It is sad to see the publisher ruin a book that required so much work. Consider the kindle version perhaps, If you are okay with digital. For me, I’m just trying to avoid losing pages.

I bought this book because I found the 1st edition very useful. In this edition they combined the anatomy and clinical portions into one text which seems to be a mistake because the text is very cumbersome and fragile now. I have been trying to work through it but all of the pages keep pulling out when I turn them making it difficult to use. The content I have been able to get through so far has been good but I am questioning whether it is worth it given I keep having to reorganize the pages.

There are many errors in this book. I do not believe that this was properly edited. Don't waste your time or money

The content is very comprehensive and well organized. The poor rating, however, results from the poor binding of this book. When reading the middle sections of the book, with any kind of page turning the pages will eventually become unbound and separate from the spine of the book.

I was looking for a completely comprehensive board review book and this is it. Great diagrams, questions, and study material but can also be used as a reference book. Only complaint is it weighs almost 10lbs and it is hard to easily transport. Also, since it is so long it is hard to keep open when reading the beginning chapters. I plan to remove the spine and split into 3 spiral bound books to make it more usable. If you are a digital user, you will have no issues! Overall, 5/5 for content!
