Great for chicha morada
I’m not Peruvian so I’m not sure if this product would be used for anything else besides chicha morada. But the drink was delicious.I didn’t follow the recipe on the bag exactly. I found a woman on YouTube with a slightly different recipe. It was pretty close though.

Best Corn, Best Recipe
This product was perfect for my chicha morada recipe. Each package is 15 ounces which is enough for a gallon. High quality corn.Pour one gallon of water into a pot. Add the 15 ounce package of purple corn. Wash the outside of a pineapple and remove the rinds and core, adding both to the pot of water. (Eat the pineapple fruit) Quarter one Granny Smith apple and add it to the pot. Add 4 cinnamon sticks and one tablespoon of cloves. Mix and turn on flame, bring to a boil. Once boiling drop flame down low and simmer covered for 30 minutes. Uncover and simmer for an additional 15 minutes. Remove contents and strain liquid into another pot. Add the juice of 2 limes and 1 cup of sugar while the liquid is still warm. Mix so the sugar dissolves. Chill in fridge. Enjoy!

Makes good Chicha Morada!
Wanted to make Chicha Morada like they sell at Alpaca Peruvian Charcoal Chicken restaurants, but nobody in my town sells purple corn. Amazon to the rescue! This corn worked perfectly, and with some spices and sugar, we had our own delicious summer beverage.

The real thing
This is real Peruvian corn. It’s not dyed with food coloring. Read the written instructions completely before making your chicha. The recipe ingredients show the use of the full bag of corn, but the instructions are for half a bag. I cut the sugar to 1/2 cup and sweetened it the rest of the way with apple juice. Next time I’ll omit the sugar and use apple and pineapple juice to sweeten. This drink takes me straight back to Peru!

Perfect for Chicha Morada
The media could not be loaded. I ran across the Peruvian recipe for chica morada and knew I had to try it. It was delicious, I highly recommend trying it out! We made it a fun and fancy mocktail by adding a salted green apple foam
