Does Not Work in HPE hardware
Purchased for HPE 3800 24sfp 2sfp+ switch - which does not allow the use of the 'allow unsupported transcevers command' this module is not detected J8177C as the box showsThis may work in newer hardware that was rebranded 'HP Aruba' but not Hewlett Packard Enterprise devices that did not make the cutThis is the 4 company I've tried looking for compatable modules was really hoping this would be the one but no such luck. I guess its only stock modules for me R.I.P. my next paycheck ...

Works great as OEM
Works great as an oem replacement in HP Procure and HPE Aruba switches. Just ensure your model numbers. This is NOT SFP+5/5 - would light up gigabit fiber again!

I tried it on three HP switches and none would authenticate this device.
I am a certified fiber optic professional so you can forgo the thought that maybe I did something incorrectly. This device is simply incompatible and will not work.

s/n prefixes MT2194xxxx works, but prefixes MT2140xxxx failed HP's diagnostics.
My first of QTY worked perfectly having s/n prefix MT2194xxxx. So that was great, and I ordered 6 more, but it's hit and miss, ie first 2 of 6 had s/n prefix MT2140xxxx failed HP's diagnostic and ask Amazon to replace them. The next 2 that arrived then the s/n prefix MT2194xxxx worked, but s/n prefix MT2140xxxx failed HP diagnostic and was returned for refund. The next day 2 more arrived with both having s/n prefix MT2194xxxx and also failed HP diagnostics, so they were returned for full refund. The box label is also different, ie the box label stating "Made in China" don't work having s/n prefix MT2140xxxx. However the boxes with s/n prefix MT2194xxxx doesn't state it was made in China and those transceivers worked perfectly, ie 3 out of total of 8 so I gave only 3 stars out of 5...
