A Good, Low Budget XLR
If you are looking for some replacement or backup XLR cable at a great price, look no further. This cable has no bells and whistles, but it gets the job done. I used it to mic up my drumset for a recent gig and found no hissing or cracking at all. Sound was reproduced clearly and consistently. The construction is not as stellar as some higher end cables, but you get what you pay for. Will they last forever? Probably not. But at this price, you can afford to replace a cable if you need to. I highly recommend them.

Greatly exceeded expectations
I've been buying these in bulk, expecting to use them for 30 days and return the bad ones until I had enough working ones for my purposes. So far, I haven't returned any of them. They all passed inspection with my cable tester upon arrival, and passed again after 4 weeks. I now have enough of these so that my bands uses one set in the studio and a separate set live, so we don't have to move any cables out of the studio for gigs. Thanks to the low cost, this was actually possible. Update, May 2016: All 17 cables purchased are still in working condition. I do not treat these cables nicely, either. When setting up for gigs, I throw the wrapped cables across the stage to the general location of whatever mic it's meant to connect to. I let fans/friends help wrap up the cables at the end, some of whom have no stage experience. I'm amazed that these have held up so well.

Not Bad, If You're Careful
These cables work fine for a permanent installation or for occasional use. I use these in a church setting between D.I.s and a snake, and they are never disconnected and hardly ever moved. For this application, they work just fine. I don't know if I would count on them in higher stress situations for very long. The cable is thinner than what you find on most XLR cables. I didn't say they were thinner gauge than other cables, because it looks and feels to me as though the jacket is actually thinner than most, and that the conductors may possibly be similar gauge. I don't know if that's actually the case, but it's just a guess on my part. The connectors have a bit more play when plugged in on either end, and they just feel kind of cheap. The biggest issue, to me, is the strain relief. The strain relief appears as though it is made for cables of a standard thickness, while the actual cable is thinner, as mentioned earlier. The fit between the strain relief and the cable is not tight enough, and I wouldn't be surprised to have cables fail because they get pulled out of the connector if used in a standard application. If that happened, I'd probably end up throwing the cable away, instead of trying to repair them like I do with other cables. The actual cable would be too thin to use with other connectors, and I don't think the connectors are of high enough quality to be used to repair other cables. Essentially, they are disposable, which is reflected in the price. Even with these issues, they earned a four-star rating from me. That is because they actually deserve it in MY application, given the reasonable pricing. I compared these to several other more expensive cables to see how quiet they were. I turned up the volume on our system and hooked the cables up, one by one, to an empty channel on the board with all the other channels muted. The noise from these cables was surprisingly average, with them louder than some, and quieter than others. I can recommend these for low-stress applications like mine, or maybe for people who take very good care of their gear. There will be no wrapping these around your arm to pack them up, unless you feel like replacing them. Take the time to coil them. If these sound like they will match your needs, give them a shot. The price is right.

Fantastic Microphone cable
Got this 20 foot microphone cable from CBI Cables for my son. He has a music studio set up in the garage. I bought him some new equipment for Christmas and added this 20 foot microphone cable to the bunch. It works great, is long enough for him and he has not had any problems with it. Fits perfectly on his Microphone. Connection and sound are good. He has been using it for over a month now and has not had any problems with it. Fantastic cheap deal as an Add on! I could not say no. I am glad I got it for him.

They work fine for me!
After a few years of on-and-off hobby music recording, using either amplifier software or a guitar amp head with a line out to record guitar parts, I decided to try recording with microphones. I recently designed, 3D printed, and built my own speaker cabinets and want to record them. Again, I'm a on-and-off hobbyist, I'm by no means a professional or even experienced in this field of music tech. But for my means, connecting my Scarlett 2i4 to two instrument mics, these cables are working fantastically with no issues at all. Due to the combined rust of not playing guitar much and not using my DAW lately, I've yet to record anything that won't make listeners grimace, but listening to my guitar tone through my monitors, I'm liking the tone I'm getting and as far as my ears can tell, these cables aren't negatively affecting my tone in any way. So while I can't speak for the reliability/clarity of these cables from a professional point of view, as a home studio hobbyist these work fine for me, and their price makes them accessible to folks that may want to try mic recording but don't want to spend a lot on the essentials without compromising quality.

Worth Full Retail Price. Even Better With Discount.
These are good quality shielded cables. I bought a pair and use them to connect my mixer to a pair of Alto powered speakers. The price discount that came from ordering them in conjunction with the mixer, made them a steal. I wish I had ordered more. It's difficult to get excited about cables. Either they do the job, or they don't. These do the job. They're worth the full retail price. If you have opportunity to take advantage of the discount that comes from ordering them in conjunction with another purchase, figure out how many you need, double the number and then order twice that many. Cables, even good quality ones, aren't that exciting. Getting them for under 4-bucks each is a different matter. That's worth getting excited about.
