Yes, you can do that on this machine. Though, if you are strictly doing voice recording with no accompanying tracks; you might want to consider something a little more basic. You don't need 8 tracks of recording capability. If you want to keep your options open to add in background music or something of that nature, you could even go with a four track. I guess that depends on how far you want to go with things.

Q: How do you put on to cd?

There are 2 rca jacks in back which you can line input to a CD recorder to Make a CD of your mixed or mastered songs. I've done it many times using the tascam cd-rw900mk2 cd recorder.

i'm not sure if you meant the old 8 track players from the 1970's but if you did then i suggest eBay or Mercari they have plenty of vintage electronics .. hope it helps you
