Kaneso Tokuyou Hanakatsuo, Dried Bonito Flakes 3.52 Ounce (2 Bags)

I buy this for the cats as a treat. I imagine it’s just as delicious for us too. I always get the bags well packed and the bag is full of air. However it never fails that I get about 2/3 of large flakes and the rest is just tiny bits of flake dust. The cats won’t eat the dust so it gets thrown out. At this price, waste is just a crime! I suppose I could make a good soup with it but I just don’t care for anything fishy. I’ve been buying this for years and I can recommend this for the cats! It’s better than catmandoo (sold on Amazon) and other companies that label it as a cat treat. This is fresh and much cheaper per ounce.

I have been buying dried bonito flakes by Kaneso for almost three years because my two kitties love them. Everyday they get bonito flakes at 2:45 pm. If I am a bit late they stand on either side of me and stare at me until I realize it’s time for bonito. These flakes are food grade. Many Asian folks use bonito flakes in soups, etc. I cannot testify about the flavor, but my cats would not eat them if they did not like the flavor. After putting the bonito flakes in a bag, Kaneso fills the bag with air to further prevent the flakes from being crushed into a powder. Amazon does its part by putting the bags in a box for delivery. This is another step to prevent crushing the flakes. One bag lasts at least three weeks for two kitties, so this is a big bargain. I highly recommend this product.

This is a large bag of human grade bonito flakes for a steal. I actually purchased these for my cats and surprise my dog loves them too. The cost to buy bonito flakes for a cat is through the roof and they are usually crumbled up and powdery. The quantity of this bag and the price blows my mind. The quality is incredible, they smell fresh, the bag is full of extra large flakes, and my animals devour them. I cannot get over the beautiful appearance of these compared to other ones that I have purchased in the past. The flavor and texture must be amazing because all my pets show a major preference to these. The expiration date on the bag ensures freshness and gives you plenty of time to use them. I actually just repurchased these and bought a two pack.

OK so I do indulge my older cats! I’ve had them since they were two days old and I want him to enjoy their food and eat healthy treats. We’ve had our two cats since they were two days old. One cat loves fish, flavored food, and a few fish flakes are always included to top his fish wet food, and there are times he will beg only for those fish flakes! This appears to be a good brand, it is human grade and my kitty loves them!

I've had a few different katsuobushi and dashi types, mostly from local Asian and international marts, but this is a decent alternative with a good price if you use a lot of the stuff for things like neko manma or quick dashi broth. It's not as good as the (likely) higher priced stuff you'd find in a local mart (if you can) and not as good as freshly-shaved off the block; but it's worth the money.

I recently starting buying fish flakes for my two cats. The brands that are made for cats tend to be overpriced, dry, tiny, or basically dust and very few flakes. I decided to switch to some that were human grade and decided to try this brand. These are by far the best quality for the price. I get big, moist, fresh, chunky, strips. They smell good and taste good. Very little to no dust in the package - these are big meaty flakes and my cats devour them. Even my finicky cat - that hates people food and most cat treats - has started begging for these outside th pantry door. He demands 2-3 servings of these flakes daily. Definitely a winner! I have orered 3 bags so far in the last few weeks and will continue to do so.

5 of our cats go crazy over fish flakes. I first bought them at another store online but found them quite pricey. Then I saw them on Amazon for half the cost. They are very similar to the pricey ones and cats love them just as much. I introduced them to 2 other people and their cats love them too. One thing I noticed is that it's only our male cats that like them. My friends female cats weren't crazy about them either so maybe it's a man thing...LOL

They were the only thing that got my cat to start eating again when she was sick. She couldn’t take the appetite stimulate the vet prescribed. I tried everything. I heard about them from a rescue I volunteer at. That the kitties would go crazy for them. Decided to try it. Just crushed some up on top of her food and now she is addicted! Started her back eating. All my cats also love them. They are a very good value also!
