Awesome
This device is awesome. Works great and good signal. I never knew you could do this with a phone SIM card. I end up cutting or Internet do it to be too expensive. I had a free mobile line which I never use. I came across this device and I order a SIM card from my provider. And boy let me tell you this router works excellent. A so easy to set up just plug and play.

Great device
Very pleased with this device so far. I use a cellular SIM card for internet through this and it is working exceptionally well so far.I highly recommend this if you live in a rural area and normal home routers aren't available for coverage.

Works in our rural area
After much research, we purchased this product based on how we were going to use it.. Home use only.We have two cellular carrier that work in our neck of the woods.. AT&T (Good signal) and Verizon (Poor signal)Pros:1. Setup is easy.. Went to AT&T, purchased a plan, threw in the sim, and it worked. It picked up the cellular signal okay when we got home.An average of 15mbps (21 at beginning of the month; 11 by the end of the month.)2. BEST option for those who live in a "true" rural area where the only option is Dish Network (terribly expensive)3. Wireless router feature worked well under 1k sq ft4. Price point for device and cellular service is unbeatable.Cons:1. No Router app.Web interface is NOT user friendly.Downloaded an app (Android) that interfaces well - "Any Router Admin Setup: AutoLogin 192.168" by Tech Tool2. Based on today's standard and the price we paid for this a month ago, this should be a 5g router and not limited to 4g.3. Upgrading the firmware is ambiguous - Please list ALL changes so users can make an informed decision.4. Wireless signal degrades beyond an 800 sq ft area.Up to 800 sq ft - Excellent Signal800 - 900 sq ft - Good Signal900 - 1000 sq ft - Fair Signal1k - 1200 sq ft - Weak Signal1200 - 1500 sq ft - Intermittent Signal1500 sq ft & beyond - No SignalConclusion:All in all we are pleased, we have decent internet service at a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend for those need a home router.

Does not work in Thailand.
I bought this device to use in Thailand during the visit. Unfortunately, it does not connect to internet. I used DTAC SIM card which is popular in Thailand. It just doesn’t connect. I had to buy another wifi device in Thailand to use.So, if your intend to use it outside US, you are warned.

Pretty much anyone can set this router up and use it
This is hands down, one of the most easy to use routers, that I have ever seen. You simply pop in your sim card, connect to the network, it pops up the web page, and you select the options you want, done. I love that it has preconfigured APN's to choose from, without having to hunt down that option in menus, and fight against programming one in, like my CPE-0001 cellular router. The menu layout, options, telemetrics, are all extremely well laid out, easy to understand, easy to edit, change.I went from a CPE-0001 LTE router to an AT&T Unite Explore/Netgear AC hotspot, to this router, and immediately I was getting much better speeds, more consistent connections and traffic, and had zero issues connecting range extenders, devices. I ended up not even needing the range extenders, as this one has roughly double to triple the output range as my previous routers. If you are stuck in a rural area with no real options for broadband Internet, this is the router you need. Buy an unlimited cellular data plan SIM, pop it in this router, and voila, you have Internet, that beats the snot out of Hughes net and viasat, for way cheaper and way more useable data. If you can get the 5g version, and have towers remotely near you, you'll get near broadband speeds, but face the usual data caps with throttling after around 500-800gb. If you do go that route these Cudy routers just can't be beat IMO for the price and ease of use.

Not Worth The Cost.
I tried multiple carriers, i.e., Simply Mobile, T-Mobile, and Google. Each came out at approximately 7 - 8.5 Mbps download and 1 – 3 Mbps Upload. The device is hands-down the most straightforward device I have ever set up. I activated the sim cards on my phone, put them into the router, and set the settings for the carrier (just a simple drop-down menu).I tested it on a secondary device, a free T-Mobile hotspot Model Number: TMOHS1. The TMOHS1 may be unlocked. Although I am unsure, it worked with the Google Fi card. I tested multiple times and received, on average 30Mbps from both Google Fi and the T-Mobile services.I could not activate the Simply Mobile sim card with the TMOHS1, although there are numerous ways online to alter the device firmware to get it to take any card. I did not want to mess with it. It was free for school, and I get 100 Gigs a year, not much, but I will keep it.I used 30gigs in two weeks, and it was the only access to the Internet. I thought I needed an expensive router, but this free TMOHS1 seems to work with the Google card at fifty dollars, much cheaper than local Xfinity Unlimited Service.I only tried the free TMOHS1 because of the dismal results for the LT500, despite its ease of setup. I will have to return this device as it does not provide me with value.I hope for 200 Mbps and will keep trying and let you know if and when I reach my goal.Keep an eye out. I also want to try out the 5g routers/hotspots and see if I can reach my goal.
