Bought this rod for Costa Rica paired with a 5000 series reel and lures as shown - casts a mile, very sensitive, great travel rod especially at this price. Did I say travel rod? Great rod. Period.

I was super happy with this setup until it broke on the second day of my vacation The first two pieces are completely inflexible, so even though they feel nice and somewhat heavy like youd want for a surf/inshore rod, all of the tension hits right at the third connection insert point. The insertion tube snapped off clear through when I hooked up with something huge out in the water. I had 30 lb mono line on so I was worried the line would snap, but it never had a chance. If youre a savvy angler, youre looking at this rod because you get a pretty good sized one that you dont have to check on an airplane. Unfortunately, a 2 piece actual surf rod for $25 by daiwa or better yet, a fuji product will serve you far better. Check it and go buy a rod holder belt so you can drink a beer and fish in the waves at the same time.

rod was too thin for me. I actually had a different rod of theirs as well that was thicker than this one and the tip snapped from a pull test lol not sure if I trust goture. I didn't have confidence to keep it.

I’ve had this rod for about 2 years now. I’ve taken it to Italy and to Florida a few times. I’ve caught many fish on it and it handles well. Very good rod for a trip!

LOVED this fishing rod (at least for the first 10 month), so much I bought it twice! But after the same issue happened on both rods, I had to tell my story. Both rod's eye's break at the 8 month mark. The top two connection, break where they connect to each other at the 10-12 month mark. With the first rod, I just assummed it was being used too much and never requested a refund. When the second rod had the identical issues, I felt I had to tell my story. Maybe bad luck or bad engineering? As stated above, LOVED them for the first 10 months, but be careful if you think these will last. These are a one year purchase.

Do not buy this piece of junk. The only great think about it is the case! I took two of these overseas to do some fishing. While I was putting both together the parts stuck like glue no matter what I tried. What is the point of a travel rod if you can not take it apart or you can not rotate to line it up correctly. I am so upset right now. I ended up buying another piece of junk from a local fishing store and I am sure I got gouged! The only silver. lining is once I chatted with Amazon, the guy said he will issue a full refund without a return since I can not get the rods back to the U.S unless I break the two pieces of garbage. Do they seriously have anyone who actually tries these products first! I am so angry beyond measure!

I don't recommend it to anyone, crap broke on the first fish, the worst thing I've been using now is that it's been 30 days and I lost money with that crap.

this was to be a spinning rod and strange design for that.
