Q: I wonder how this compares to the kuhn rikon epicurean, which i came to buy until i saw this one... anybody have experience with both?

It's as capable as any garlic press for crushing ginger but we don't advertise it as a ginger press. Due to the fibrous nature of ginger it tends to leave more residue behind than garlic.
