Q: Is this really any different than the Ubbi diaper pail?

It’s very similar in regard to use. The size and shape are slightly different. The hole for putting the waste is significantly larger than the diaper pail. That’s ultimately why I chose to go with the litter pail instead of the diaper pail. I imagine it would be difficult to use when scooping litter unless you open the whole top of the lid.

Q: Is the white one made of steel as well? Also how sturdy is the hinge? I have to move the pail each time I scoop and the genie hinges break often.

Yes its steel. They say stainless steel but mine was outside for only 1 day as my garage was cleaned and it rained. The pail got water inside rusted inside and a bit outside. I contacted the company and they refused to do anything about it. They said it is not designed for outside use. When I questioned why stainless steel rusted, they just seemed to shrug off my concerns. I really like the pail as it is small and seems rather robust. However, given the lack of a suitable response from their customer service we moved on to a PawPail which we are very much happier with. It is robust, well designed, can be used outside, does not rust nor leak or get wet in rain and uses any sort of bags (dont have to buy from the company. Also has removable basket which you can just put poop bags in directly and then dump into trash. A lot simpler and in our view better product overall.

I use mine for dog waste. No litter scooper included with mine.

I dont know and I cannot check as I threw mine out. I was very disappointed as the stainless steel rusted inside. While I know this is designed to be used inside, due to work in our garage it was outside for 2 days. Apparently moisture got in somehow and it rusted. I tried their customer service and they refused to help out with a replacement since they said it is not designed to be outside (even for the limited time I had it outside). I would avoid them and go with PawPail - seems much better as a replacement
