You don't have to purchase a converter, the unit runs off 240V at 50hz. Running it a 240V 60hz (American) is not an issue. What you need is a source for 240V in your house or garage. In most houses the only pre-wired source of 240V is either the stove(oven), Clothes dryer, or water heater. The water heater is generally wired direct without a plug and sometimes so is the stove(oven). The dryer is the most likely 240V access with a wall plug if you don't have 240V in your garage, say for a welder or compressor. After you have located a source for 240V to plug into you will need to make up an adapter cable. You can do this by going to Home Depot and purchasing the following(1) a 6 ft. 10/3 3-Wire Dryer Cord (HDX Model # HD#627-833 Internet # 100672782 Store SKU # 627833)(2) a Leviton Model # R51-515CV-0OR Internet # 205165516 Store SKU # 1000050484 15 Amp 125-Volt 3-Wire Connector, OrangeCut the copper lugs off the end of the cable, strip back the wires the connect the wires to/inside the orange 3 wire connector. You will need a volt ohm meter or test light to make sure that you have the wiring correct. The two angled connectors are the ones that carry the voltage, The L shaped connect on the dryer cord is the common/return. In 220V this is not used except to derive a 120V circuit if the 240V appliance uses 120V for other functions.To reiterate - the wires connecting the two angled prongs on the dryer plug will be connect to the two straight female prong receptors on the orange female connector. Again make sure that you have this right or you will be putting 120V on the common/return and you don't want that to happen. After that you will need a power cord that will connect from the adapter cable you just created to the pump. You can use any cable that you would use to plug in the power supply on a desktop computer.I have been using this setup for a few years with no issues.

No. You will need to rewire it to 240v. The gauge wire works fine for 220v-240v just cut and splice them with a dryer cord or something similar like a welding cable. You only need 3/0 cable. Any gauge rated for 220v+ will do.

I don’t know but don’t buy this. Mine broke after a few uses and I couldn’t get warranty. RobinAir support won’t help and they say contact Amazon. Amazon won’t help either.

Can it work in America 110V 60Hz?

No it will not. I bought one and had to return it because it will not run on 110 V 60 Hz. I believe it is 220 V. However the 110 V one didn't have the gauge so I was disappointed but it works fine.
