This Arcturus Insulated Tarp is an absolute workhorse. I've used it for everything from ground cover while camping to emergency shelter, and it performs exceptionally well. The insulation layer actually works—you can feel the difference compared to regular tarps when used as a blanket or ground barrier. The heavy-duty construction is no joke. This isn't some flimsy emergency blanket that tears if you look at it wrong. It's thick, durable, and built to handle real outdoor use. I've dragged it across rough ground, used it in rain and wind, and it still looks great. The grommets are reinforced and haven't shown any signs of tearing out. The thermal properties make it incredibly versatile. Owned a similar tarp by a different maker until it was stolen. But I have to say, my old tarp had nothing on this! This tarp feels really durable and the large grommets are extra reinforced. It's big enough for all my needs. Was also pleased that it came with a storage bag made of the same material (including the reflective surface on the inside!) which makes stowing it a breeze. Definitely a great item for a great price. Highly recommend!

I gave this a four because to actually use this as a all purpose blanket/tarp it needs to be square. So 7'x7' would be perfect and that's something to consider when choosing something like this for both purposes. Also there needs to be more eyelets and a better quality of them these are borderline cheap and did hold up but the ripstop around them works really well. So eight eyelets would work great! The material isn't too bad but with repeated folding in the same manner and wet weather it will start to fray and the mylar will crack causing it to tare. If you're an outdoors person consider all this if you plan to use it as such but if just plan to keep in in your car as an emergency blanket it'll be fine. Plus the storage bag needs to be a little bigger in width by about a half an inch, but it works. I also gave it four stars because it didn't come with tent stakes and if this is needed as an emergency shelter then let's just hope you remember the use of some sticks on the ground in place of that and you remember your cordage. It's not a bad product and it'll work just fine in my useful gear either as a tarp, emergency blanket or footprint. Does the job! I wrap it around my dog's crate in the car so it keeps warm longer when we're running errands together in the cold weather. It's great to walk back with her and see that the crate is still nice and warm when she gets back in. It also makes the crate more denlike, so she is very comfortable in there. I like the camo b/c it also blends in and doesn't bring attention to it.

I was looking for a replacement for a product called Space Blanket. The original version of these appears to be unavailable and the alternatives claiming the same name, doubtful. The Arcturus is a high quality item, a bit heavier in weight than the original. I like that it comes in a zippered pouch and, unlike too many item these days, the pouch is loose enough so it is possible for a normal human to refold the blanket and get it into the pouch. I was looking for a durable item that has the potential of lasting for years and the Arcturus has every prospect of meeting that requirement.

WOW!!! Very impressed! The minute you wrap up in this...heat!! It's big too. I like that I can wrap up with so much coverage. It also can be used at the campfire to deflect heat. Does not tear ..very sturdy. Worth every penny.. I'd actually pay more for it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

So this little bit of kit has a thermal lining which reflects 90% of your body heat back to you, i used one on my tent to go all around my ground sheet and sleeping back and i was toasty warm, it feels a little flaky but no issues yet, waterproof very light and practical. At a push you could use it to hide from thermal camera's not that i would expect anyone on Amazon to need one for that purpose :-D .
