I love eating the pinwheels! It tastes like licorice. I ordered a second container of it because everyone else in the family loves the flavor.

This is a great product.

This was the second time that I ordered this licorice. The first time, package arrived intact, and the licorice was delicious. This time, package was torn apart and the container was shattered, with licorice spilling out of the package. Amazon needs to improve its packaging for this product. What a waste, and very disappointing.

Best real licorice!!

I tasted it and it was good - but it arrived damaged with most of the licorice in the shipping container, so I wasn't comfortable eating most of it. But also, one of the main reasons I purchased it was because I like to have a ziplock bag of this in the compartment in my car door. Why? I often go on long trips, and years ago I purchased some of these licorice wheels and they were wonderful to help stay awake when driving. Not just eating them, but being able to play with them, unwinding and pulling the licorice by the inch from each wheel, using it to help stay awake, much like a cigarette used to do for me many many years ago when I smoked. But, long story short, these didn't really allow me to do that. I mean I could, but they were not really easy to unwind at all and enjoy when driving, not more than maybe a half inch at a time when they would break, and so I would just eat them whole, somewhat defeating MY purpose of buying them.

About 3 years ago, I attempted to find the best tasting black licorice. I LOVE black licorice and fondly remember going to see Disney's Cinderella at a tiny movie theater in Estacada Oregon. We each were allowed to select one item from the candy counter, and mine was usually a bar version of black licorice. It was soft, black, and had a delightful flavor and texture. I savored every delicious bite. Flash forward 65 years. In my attempt to find the black licorice of my childhood, I purchased 6 or more different brands of licorice. I was surprised to find so many BAD types. Most of the licorice I tried were the thick Australian types. To my disappointment, few had a good flavor with many failing to have good texture, and having so much licorice extract that it was too sweet, and too bitter, literally burning my tongue. To my horror, some were even BROWN, not black!!! I finally gave up and bequeathed the failed candidates to my yard waste container. I was not doing any favors for the compost. Then, a few months ago, my sister came back from a trip to Germany. She brought me back some lovely Haribo gummy treats. One of them was a bag of their licorice wheels. Expecting the worst, I didnt know Haribo made licorice, but i tried them, while expecting my usual disappointment. However, what I found was the flavor and texture of the licorice from my childhood at the theater in Estacada! They were so wonderful, i ordered a TUB of them. Now, every day i happily have my licorice break, where I treat myself to 4 of their wonderful licorice wheels, happily unrolling them and savoring every delicious bite. I am on my third tub as we speak. THIS IS THE BEST BLACK LICORICE I HAVE EVER TASTED, AND I AM A TRUE LICORICE CONNOISSEUR. I would give this as gifts, it is so good.

Everyone loves these! I keep the large container hidden and put a few in a small bowl. Much more economical and less packaging than buying the smaller bags.
