The cups are cast iron and make drinking the hot tea a slow process waiting for the cup to cool. When trying to replicate the experience of a great Asian restaurant, this set is probably not a good beginner set. The teapot is lovely but make sure to clean per the instructions because some manufacturing left overs get removed during the process. The cups just seem to be a separate style from the pot. A good match but still a slightly different style, important if aesthetics are important. When the cup finally cools enough to be handled, unfortunately the tea is now tepid.This would make a great set for a gift or to be displayed. Actual use is not optimal unfortunately.

Very happy with purchase!!! I've used the teapot multiple times and am going to purchase more from this brand. The quality is great and a cast iron teapot is always good to have if you enjoy tea. The cups are quite small but I keep them at my tea corner more for decoration, and use larger cups.The pot gets very hot!!! Do not overfill!!! It holds more water than expected but I wouldn't fill much higher than the bottom of the mesh strainer inside. If you do you are libel to burn yourself. The pot gets very hot and keeps the tea piping for a long time. I really enjoy mine and use it often.

This tea set is beautiful! The details are amazing. I have not used it because it is a gift but I might buy one for myself. The weight is great for cast iron.
