Safe and reliable
I have been using Sentry Fiproguard in my dog rescue for many years and have never had an incident with it. It has not once failed to keep my fogs flea free, and I have had no medical issues with them from sing it. Just today I was talking with another rescuer who used another brand, a well known name, on one of her poodles and it had a seizure. The vet said that there was no doubt it was a reaction to the flea med. I'm grateful nothing like that has happened with the Sentry product. I've never had to waste out a dose because the ampule was badly made and the med leaked out. And I'm grateful for it's lower cost, I go through a lot of this stuff here!

This stuff seriously works
We take our dogs out to a ranch a few times a year. In the past we've had some problems with ticks. We used to use BioSpot and we'd get home and notice they had big engorged ticks on them and have to carefully remove them. That stuff obviously was not working. We went out again this past weekend after switching to Fiproguard and the tick problem out there was MUCH worse than the last time. Unfortunately we had to put this stuff through a trial by fire. Our dogs got a lot of ticks on them and we'd pick them off when we saw them but missed a bunch. The next day we let them out of their kennels in the morning and there were dead ticks everywhere. They were all still small so it was obvious that they took a bite and then died. Not a single tick on all three of our dogs managed to dig in and start feeding. I had to give them a tick bath when we got home because a few were still crawling around in the fur and hadn't tried to dig in yet. If I had known the tick problem would be so bad I would have added some extra layers of protection to help prevent the ticks getting on them in the first place but I'm so grateful we switched to this product because it would have been an absolute nightmare without it. I'm completely satisfied that this product works as advertised!Update: the tick bath I gave my dogs actually seemed to wash off the protection that the fipronil provided. So my advice if this happens to you is to not give them a bath but rather just try and pick the ticks off or use some sort of tick killer that doesn't require washing the skin.

Good value
This worked great for my little pup. I don’t feel it was as effective and after having a scare with this brand (cat version) I decided to switch my dog to the seresto flea collar. Seemed like it worked for the month, but I wanted to go with a more reliable brand after the scare I had using this medication (cat version). Pay attention to how your animal reacts so you can quickly try to wash off if your animal starts to have a word reaction, but good to use if in a budget.

Worked on my 4 dogs
A large old mutt, an Aussie, a YorkiePoo and a Choodle. I actually only used this product for 2 months last Summer. I had no fleas or ticks over that period. I quit applying it too early in the fall and found a few ticks after that. This year I will start as soon as I see bugs and stop only when fully into winter. I take my dogs walking on trails frequently, so they gave it a good test. My primary concern is with ticks as these can be life threatening to a dog, and I did not find one tick while using it. I check my dogs frequently for these blood suckers. I did not have a flea problem either, even after I quit using it in the fall. Perhaps fleas do not come out like ticks in late fall warm spells. I found ticks even in February a couple years ago during a very mild Midwestern winter. Regarding the bad reviews, go figure. My understanding is that this is a preventative, if you have a preexisting problem on the dog or in the home getting that under control can be a more arduous task. However people trash Frontline as well. Frontline is incredibly more expensive. The active ingredient is identical, although I know that does not always guarantee products to work identically. However this worked for my 4 dogs, I certainly would have found ticks on them had it not worked, after about 50 or so trail hikes, including at the large dog park that we go to. Regarding fleas, I had none, but I had none to start with. In my experience all other topical flea/tick treatments have been ineffective, only the active ingredient in this product has been effective. I will wait until the end of this year before I firmly decided that brand is great stuff, if not as good as Frontline, close enough. My new Chiwennie adds a 5th test subject to the mix. However I do feel pretty strongly that it is based on my last year's experience. I realize that Frontline also has a product that kills eggs as well, but feel that if you don't let the problem get started, that is probably not super consequential, not enough to justify the dramatically increased cost of that product.

this product did not help with fleas and ticks
The first time I bought this product for my two small Chihuahuas I brought two 6 months, one box for each of my small dogs for 3 months. The first box worked very well the first three months on both dogs, I was impressed. When I opened the second box the tubs where all sucked in but I could squeeze out the medicine for the next 3 months but my dogs did not started showing any signs of relief from scratching fleas for the next 3 months from the second box of fleas medicine did not work. I stored this flea medicine in my desk in the house that has AC and Heat and could not understand why the second box all the tubs were sucked in and did not relieve my dogs from Asian. The next 6 month I reorder 2 more boxes 3 months on tub for each of my dogs the second time because the first order one box did work very well. Another note: before I put flea medicine on my dogs (who are not outside animals) I gave them both flea baths once a month each time. The next day I applied this product. I found this product again did not work my dog started again scratching the first month. The second order 2/ 6 months has not worked. I am now convinced this product does not work and my dogs had to suffer with fleas. Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice shame on you.
