Gold Finches will love this feeder
We haven't put the feeders out just yet but they are very solid. There are 8 ports on each of the feeders so there will be plenty of space for he birds to feed. We really enjoy the gold finches and the sweet songs they offer. I think these feeders will attract them to our back yard. I recommend them.

Nice inexpensive finch feeder
Nice finch feeder. The red, yellow, & orange finches will love eating their special seed from it. But we’ll see how long it lasts against squirrels trying to get to the seed. They typically chew through the tiny slots in the plastic tube. If there were metal shields around the small slits it would stop the squirrels from chewing thru them. Might want to consider that if the manufacturer redesigns it.

Small, but otherwise great feeder
Pros: lightweight, attractive, easy to clean; more perches/feeding ports than most (8 instead of 6), and my goldfinches really like it, and they are finicky!Cons: even though complete dimensions were given in the product images, I thought this was comparable in size to my old 8 perch/port Audobon feeder. I was wrong. With 15 goldfinches eating constantly, I had to fill this 3 times a day. It's just a bit too small. But if I had fewer birds, I'd keep it!

Not a Good Choice for Nyger Finch Food
Bought this feeder to use with Nyger bird feed for finches. Unfortuantely, the things I don't like about it, far outweigh the things I do like about it. Good first: Very light weight and easy to fill. Very important...but humidity makes these feeders difficult to use and clean. The Nyger feed is very small and begins to stick in the crevices of the feeder. After a point--pretty quickly in a summer like this, the feed begins to mold. No bottle cleaner, no pipe cleaners, nothing can get to the seeds stuck in the crevices. If the bottom came off for cleaning you might be able to avoid the problem but it doesn't and as you can imagine, the birds refused to eat food that is moldy. If I had the box I'd return it but lesson learned. I'll find another feeder built more for this climate.

This is for Thistle seed or other very small seeds
This is a Thistle feeder. I knew that just by looking at it but reading the description it makes it out to be a regular bird feeder. The holes for the seeds are tiny and that's because it is a Thistle feeder. What I don't like about it is the holes are almost in direct alignment with the perch making it difficult for the birds to use. They almost and do lose their balance. If the holes were slightly offset from the perch it would be much easier for the birds to use. The other issue I have noticed after one day of use is the perch is too short to be out both sides. I had the perches centered as it came out of the box and the birds were having issues with it. I intend to find a skewer that I can run through to provide extra room to hold onto. In the meantime I simply pushed the perch almost flush on one side with the remainder on the other side providing a larger perch. I do like the bird feeder. It is small but holds a decent amount of Thistle. I like that it is on the small side. Thistle seed is expensive and it has been my experience that the seed can mold in the feeder. The small size of this feeder should minimize this issue.
