Handy tool to have.
Purchased this to help load a small car (Ford escape) onto a trailer. Have used for several other tasks. Works well (better than expected). Happy with my purchase. Battery last a long time. (And there is 2). Easy to operate. Pulls very slow but very strong. Good value. Looking forward to Elk hunting season.

Awesome product!
I had previously specified this unit for a commercial fleet customer for use in their service vehicles and they worked perfectly and the customer feedback was that they also used them beyond the planned application! I knew that I also needed one for my personal use and have used it several times and love it! The portability of it and the rechargeable batteries make this a must have if you don't want a permanently mounted winch or if you have multiple vehicles!

Very Handy
Good unit Very Handy, the reason for 4 star is because it does not freewill out and the duty cycle for full load is 1 minute and wait 30 minutes, that detail I did not see before buying, It seems to work well and comes with 2-24 volt batteries, but I really have not tested it very much yet,

Excellent Performance
I can only say WOW. Excellent product. I used it in conjunction with a crane to pull and lift a several hundred pound item. Performed great. The winch is strong and versatile. How you use this winch is really based on your imagination. Worth the money.

Buyer Beware
Batteries will not hold a charge after a few charges. Without the batteries, the winch is useless.

Don't forget to turn it off before storing it!
The one thing I learned the hard way is that you need to remember to turn the power switch off for storage. Luckily I bought two batteries with mine but its embarrassing to grab it to move something and its dead as a hammer. Over a few weeks of storage the little LED will eat the battery up. However, I've already used this thing for so many different projects and jobs. Its like having a few buddies over but not having them drink all your beer! The overload light does come on a bit sooner than I would have thought, however its nice to not burn up something this expensive, much less in the middle of using it and there you are with a load partially moved or lifted. Its a great tool for one person to use. I HAVE had the gearbox turn backwards though and over-run the internal brake. It was slow and there was a lot of weight on it (1700 lbs vs the 1000 lb rating) so I am not surprised. I DO wish it had some sort of freespool lever. I'm not a fan of burning battery power and adding heat to the system just by powering out and not doing any real work.

Battery position and charging awkward
This is a very handy tool around our large acreage. We recently used it to load an ATV that wouldn't run. I rated it lower because the battery is awkward and hard to charge. The battery kept falling out while we were using it.

Works GREAT!
Took this to a job site to install some solar equipment. Had to hoist solar panels 15' up. The client wanted to do the work, and was impressed with the ease that the winch did it's work. The fact that it is cordless made my company look state-of-the-art. Brought both batteries to the site, but only needed one. This was surprising since we had to run it out to it's full length several times. It was a REALLY humid day, so being able to push a button sure beat hand-cranking 15' of cable! At the end of the day one of their crew liked the winch so much he joked that I could find my winch in HIS truck. LOL Only improvement I could recommend would be to have a release to allow the cable to play-out freely. The current design has the motor being run in reverse to let out the cable, which eats up the batteries. (However, I'm still on the same battery, so it looks like there's plenty of power stored to compensate.) Also, a wireless remote would be REALLY cool.

Don't be fooled by it's size. This little winch is powerfull. It can pull a disabled car onto a trailer with ease. Get two batteries when you order to be safe. You don't want to be halfway done and run out of juice.

Great product

Nice unit. Would like to see a release that would allow the drum to free wheel. Would reduce battery drain and overheating while extending the cable. Would recommend this product.

Had no issue pulling a partially submerged 12 foot dock from the water. I suspect the total weight of the dock to be around 700 lbs. I was lucky to have 2 large trees near by to use as an anchor. I highly recommend this unit.
