Here's a wonderfully capable battery diagnostic tool which immediately paid for itself.I have a dozen or more vehicles - cars, trucks, boats, tractors, mowers, motorcycles, implements - all of which have 12V starting batteries. Most of these vehicles are used infrequently, and I seem to spend half my life charging and replacing batteries. Sound familiar?In a nutshell, the Romondes charger will allow you to both assess battery health and to recondition borderline unhealthy batteries. I did this with all my vehicles, and ended up "saving" a couple of batteries I would have otherwise replaced.The "battery check" function will measure battery "state of charge %", "state of health %", and calculated) "cold cranking amps (CCA)". If your battery doesn't pass muster, simply run the "battery recondition" routine (which will take a few hours) and test again. In my case, three of four batteries which initially failed test were able to pass after reconditioning. While initially cautious, I have since followup tested these batteries with a VOM, and the reconditioning seems to have genuinely worked.For the good folks at Romondes:- Lovely device, saddled with an almost unreadable instruction manual. I'm an engineer, and eventually figured things out, but most folks could do with clear, concise instructions- For a 4A charger, this thing has a tremendous 120 VAC inrush which causes a sharp spark upon plug in. Really needs an in- circuit snubber to control this- The "battery check" routine often requires that surface charge be bled. This is difficult with disconnected batteries (and "battery reconditioning" requires that the battery be disconnected). This device could easily be equipped to bleed surface charge; perhaps automatically as part of "battery check" feature?- Many folks may simply wish to use this device as a battery maintainer, leaving their vehicle hooked up when not in use (eg, my M3 convertible will run down its big, expensive battery in just a couple of weeks). Suggest that the Romondes be equipped with a pluggable battery harness (or two) to make this convenient. My battery tenders, etc all use an SAE connector - which seems to be the standard, and works wellHope this helps...

Awesome product works well

My 3 year old AGM FoMoCo battery was getting weak, wanted to give this a try.I ran repair cycles 7 days straight and was able to gradually improve from 500A to 600A, but not enough to save the battery.The tester seems accurate, tried a new battery I had in another vehicle and it was spot on.No regrets.

The first time i reviewed this, it opened eyes, after a couple of days the company sent me another unit, and yes, this one works perfectly and the company backs their products. I really love this that works without fault. Being an automotive shop owner, the customers are very happy as we are getting the correct diagnostic for their vehicles.Highly recommend this product.

The Battery tester / charger is easy to use and accurate. I was well past the Amazon 30 day return policy when I couldn’t get it to charge. I emailed the Romondes company and within 48 hours there sending me a new one at no charge. Excellent customer support.

I bought this charger repairer because it was supposed to be able to repair batteries. It seems to have fixed my battery as stated. I don't know for sure how well it has been fixed, though; only time will tell. This device also has pretty good testing and charging functions. I only wish it also included jump starting capabilities.

It does a decent job charging slowly however it's repairing float features for conditioning are just not as good as similarly priced chargers it's testing feature is useful but poorly laid out and pretty much the only reason to buy this but if you have a separate tester like an AC Delco you're better off. They need to improve the read out and probably work on the pulse feature the only two reasons why you would buy this

One of the few testers out there that actually charges as well as tests batteries. I had some issues and the Romondes customer service sorted me out right away. Awesome company and would deal with them again.
