I'd advise against buying this product! The quality seems fine and all but this thing reeks to high heaven it has such a powerful chemical smell I won't bring it into my house I have it sitting outside now hoping the smell will go away! Clearly it's made in China where there's absolutely no concern about environmental impact on the workers or the environment!

While some reviewers state the rubber smell is very strong or offensive, I disagree based on my receiving experience. Upon opening the carton, each plate was sleeved in a plastic bag before being boxed. No noxious odors other than what you’d expect from a rubber-coated bumper or training plate. With Covid-19 and other germs a worldwide concern these days I took the extra precaution of simply washing the weight plates with hot water and soap. Thereafter, not only were they “squeaky clean,” but very comfortable to hold as well for lightweight resistance exercises. Overall a decent value to start one’s training weight collection!

These are very good plates to add to your gym or home gym. They resemble the X-Matk plates but they are actually better than the X-Mark's. The Lionscool plate is beveled slightly to allow you to slide your plates on and off the bar very easy. My X-Mark plate is like trying get a tire mounted on a car. These are very much worth it and I'm glad I ordered these.

I’m a bit disappointed in these. Nowhere did it disclose that these would be used. As soon as I opened the box, it wreaked of cigarette smoke and the plates have a yucky residue on them, as seen in the picture.Luckily I can just clean them and the price was decent, so it’s not the end of the world. At the end of the day they’re still 5lb plates and will serve their purpose after cleaning them. I just really don’t appreciate the false advertising- if you’re gonna sell something used, reduce the price accordingly and make the consumer aware.

So far, so good! The plates I had only allowed me to increase weight on my barbell by 20 pounds minimum (10 pounds on each side). I bought a pair of 2.5s and a pair of 5s, and now I am all set! Love these things. Some reviews complain about an awful smell, but I don’t think mine have a bad smell at all. Recommended.

...the strong rubbery smell goes away after awhile, just be patient. Wipe it down using rubbing alcohol with a rag and then sprinkle baby powder afterwards. Repeat several times over a month. Hopefully manufacturer will find a way to eliminate the smell before shipping. That said, the inner rings are holding up great working out 3 times a week. No noise or friction at all on bar. Very good quality.

The weights are good, nice rubber cover and nice hole placement however they smell really badly and they are greasy. It told over a month to get the smell to subside.
