Melodic Hardcore at its best

Von Venerea aus Schweden hatte ich kurz nach der Jahrtausendwende zum ersten Mal etwas gehört und als ganz okayen, aber nicht überragenden Melodic Hardcore abgespeichert. Kürzlich legte ich mir dann das aktuelle Album "Last Call For Adderall" aus dem Jahr 2016 zu - und das hat mich ausgesprochen positiv überrascht. Kam der "Hitfaktor" auf manch älteren Album zu kurz, so besteht "Last Call For Adderall" praktisch nur aus Ohrwürmern mit grandiosen Melodien. Beim Tempo der Songs gibt es nur zwei Stufen, nämlich schnell und sehr schnell, aber das ist angesichts der tollen Kompositionen völlig egal - Eintönigkeit kommt nicht auf. Viel besser als das, was Venerea hier abgeliefert haben, kann man Melodycore eigentlich nicht machen: Da sind doch glatt volle fünf Sterne drin.
