Wow
Didn't think I would like this book but I did. Sophie, a masseuse and former Mafia Princess, looking for an Alpha male to dominate her and Joey, a "made man", seeking relief for an old injury meet in an unlikely way and begin a relationship. Sophie does not agree with the lifestyle that got her father killed and took him away from her and her mother so she resists Joey until he shows her a "firm hand", literally. Can they make their relationship work even though the odds are against them?I loved the story line and characters. Everything flowed together so well. There could have been more resolution regarding Sammy and also her acceptance from his m9ther. But overall a great read.

Sweet
How can you say sweet and Mafia at the same time? It's done well in this book. Both primary characters are delightful so you are cheering for them from the beginning. There's a nice HEA. Some sex. No appreciable violence. I plan to read other books in this free standing series.

Hot Spankings
Review for The Bossman by Renee RoseThe Bossman by Renee Rose is an erotic romance with a side dish of kink. If your kink doesn’t include spankings then you should probably avoid this book because spankings … spankings everywhere! Sofa King Hot!!Joey La Torre is a made man. He’s deep into the mafia family and is the exact opposite of everything Sophie wanted for her life. Her mother was the wife of a mobster and it made her miserable. It made him miserable up until the day he was killed. Sophie vowed that would never happen to her … and then Joey bulldogged his way into her life and just would not take no for an answer.I loved the chemistry between Joey and Sophie. It was so hot when he spanked her, like off the charts, holy wet panties H O T!There were a lot of really great aspects of this book, but in some places it fell short for me. The author had a great concept and I could definitely tell she put a lot of effort and love into this book. Unfortunately, the times where the story felt rushed, a few places the timeline wasn’t quite right, and the unbelievability of how easily both H and h caved into the spanking … her caving as a punishment and him caving as a kink. It just felt forced.Overall I really enjoyed the read and will definitely read more in this series! Three stars for storyline and 2 wet panties for smut factor.Review by Miranda at Mommy’s a Book Whore

Good characters
A spanking romance where Sophie has gotten away from the Family after her father's death. Now she's falling for the Capo's brother, Joey. Both have strong personalities. Sophie does not know how to ask for what she wants sexually but Joey can read her behavior to determine what she wants. He wants to love her and make life easier for her. She doesn't want to be beholden to the Family again.I liked these characters. I like their strength. I also like how they don't use words to show their commitment to each other but their actions. Some of the secondary characters leave something to be desired. I enjoyed the story and look forward to reading the rest of the series.

I loved Joey!
I absolutely loved Joey. In the beginning he came across as more of a thug and not all that intelligent, but as we (and Sophie) get to know him better, we discover how intelligent he is and extremely perceptive when it comes to Sophie. The plot really held my interest too, as I could understand why Sophie was so hesitant to give her heart to him, and for a while their being together didn't look at all feasible. A great HEA though.

Liked it but not my favorite Renee Rose book.
I liked this book but I must admit it is not my favorite book by this author. I just do not care for mafia books. After seeing the original God Father movie I have the image of the dismembered horses head seared into my memory forever. I kind of felt that Joey was not a true Dom and that Sophie was topping from the bottom through most of the story. I also felt the book was a bit over priced at $6.99. This may be the fault of the publisher and not Ms. Rose's. Still worth reading.

Falling in Love with a Mafia Man
Sophie Palazzo finds herself face to face with the Mafia Don's brother, Joey La Torre. She's determined from their first meeting to remain distant from the Mafia life her father had been involved in before his death. But Joey's charm and persistence might prove to be more than Sophie can ignore.I loved the way Sophie and Joey played off each other. I like a sassy, mouthy heroine and Sophie was charmingly both. I found myself chuckling at the back and forth between the two characters. Renee Rose does an excellent job of making you fall in love with a man that you shouldn't want to fall in love with. I think I fell for Joey right along with Sophie. He works for the Mafia, an organization that does bad things, but there's something about him that makes you want to spend the rest of your life with him.In The Bossman you experience the highs and the lows with Sophie and Joey. There were parts I found myself laughing out loud, while other parts had tears blurring my vision. I was wishing so hard for their happy ending that at some points I didn't think it was going to be possible. I kept trying to read faster just to make sure everything came out all right. You should buy this today. Then you should call out of work and lock the door, because you're going to want some time and privacy!
