Pricey but convenient and effective.
I did not plant a sapling in my yard in order to feed the local deer population. As soon as I put these on, the little tree was safe. The modular design is super convenient but you will absolutely want to use small zip ties to keep the pieces together. Add more pieces as your tree grows. These really work well.

They don't stack vertically as you're led to believe
Snapping together is fine, and you can make whatever diameter you want. I used these to try to keep rabbits from killing small trees. The blurb on the product leads you to believe that they can snap together vertically but I did not find a way to do this. I wanted the extra height because I put they fairly deep in the ground to keep the rabbits from digging under. It was then that I discovered that they don't snap together vertically. Seems to me this would have been an easy feature to build in. There are some slots and tabs that look like they should go together to vertically assemble but they don't snap in, they just align. Someone else commented that they used zip ties to get them to vertically go together. A good idea I think but this should have been built into the product. We'll see if the rabbits find a way to defeat the product and eat my small trees.

great to keep critters away
I put these together to protect tall lilies from the rabbits that love to eat them before they even bloom. They work great to protect tall plants or trees from being damaged by animals. You can make them as big as you need.

Work well and look nice too
These work well, go together easily and fit a young tree with room to grow. We placed them around newly planted apple trees and you can barely notice them because the gray color blends with the bark of the tree. No more bunnies and voles chewing on the bark. Well worth the price and I will buy them again.

Worried about effectiveness
A pretty simple product, not that sturdy when they finally snapped together, and I am not confident that this will protect from deer. The way it seems is that the deer will view this as an undesirable place to sharpen their horns because it has plastic. It doesn’t look strong and unified, so I wonder if some products would be better. I will update this post and let you know in a few months!

They work
I bought these to protect my young trees from my lawn guy's weedeater. They have done what I wanted them to do. I don't have a problem with critters gnawing on my trees so I can't attest to protection from that. To the guy complaining that they're not strong enough to protect from deer, well no joke. Deer are very strong and very aggressive when it comes to scraping trees so I wouldn't imagine a little plastic tree guard would do much to stop them. As for the woman that said they wouldn't stay closed in windy areas - we went through a Cat 5 hurricane and all 6 of mine remained intact. I am here to buy more today.

Pure junk
Cheap plastic. Didn’t snap together properly and/or parts that are suppose to click together rip. This isn’t protecting your tree from anything. Honestly, I can’t wait til the rut to watch a buck shred these pieces of garbage. Buy at your own risk.

Great for seedling trees
These are great for seedling trees. Only thing I'd change is to add 2 small loops that you could use a tent stack to hold them down in the wind and rain. I'm chasing them all over our yard.

Not suitable for cold weather
I used this product to protect my tree from deer rubbing their antlers on it, but it was very easily damaged and broke apart in cold weather. This may be suitable for warmer climes but don't expect it to hold up in sub-zero temperatures.

Cheap plastic.
Super cheaply made. I was disappointed with these for sure. No way they are keeping animals out or away. Looks like something you get from dollar store. I don’t buy them again.
