I had a Backflip revolver before. Thought I would try the panel style. Important to me was the fact this is fiberglass based, hoping that it will not be affected by hail compared to aluminum panels. Only issue I have is that in order to close the gate, you have to raise the last panel and then close after gate has been shut. I knew this before buying. Just not used to doing this with other backflip products.

I thought this review would be 5++ stars given I purchased a Bakflip F1 10 years ago and was very very happy with it. I live in the Northeast and the F1 still looked great after 10 years. The vehicle was garage-kept but the F1 saw a lot of snow, cold weather, hot weather, and rain and still looked great. (Never hail though so I don't know the reliability against impact damage). I bought a new truck and was excited about the purchase of a new Bakflip F1 for the truck bed. . . . The design has changed. It is lighter and flimsier than the original. This was not a deal breaker for me because although I fear the durability and strength might be less, the lighter weight is nice too as the old design was on the heavy side when folding and unfolding. However, when I clamped the rails, they were slightly down angle from 90 degrees and the cover would not latch without either lifting up on the rail or slamming the topper down hard. I spoke with customer service and they told me that the clamps needed to be in a special position. The new clamp design is weird and awkward but I did have the clamps positioned correctly. So customer service told me they would send some shims to help. I recalled that I needed shims with the old design from 10 years ago as well. Anyway, I waited about 10 days. No shims. I called customer service again. They hadn't sent the shims and they told me again than the clamps needed to be positioned correctly. They even sent a picture. Again, I checked and the clamps were correct so they agreed to overnight a set of shims. I installed the shims and it works. The shims make a subtle difference so the topper latches. SO: I really like the look of the topper. I was going to send it back but there really isn't any quality option out there (I include the other Bakflip options such as the MX4 in the same "good" category as the F1). But the new clamp design is poor, the installation directions are not very good, and customer service gave me the runaround. I hope the product lasts as well as the old one because the cover does look good and is functional. Bakflip/Realtruck - Yay and Boo. Hope the review helps you all out there.

Top is amazing quality, second I've bought in 6 years. Only issue is the gaskets supplied. Can not be water tight if the gaskets are junk?

Watched a YouTube video on installation, read the instructions and didn’t have any problems. Looks good, works well and would buy again.

Good quality, and easy to install. Well made. Worth the extra money.

This bed cover has rubber seals all of the way around and at every bend so you would think it would keep your stuff dry. It doesn't. In fact you can count on all of your belongings in the back to be soaked and water logged if it rains. And worse moldy if you don't check on it in time. For $1100 and several 5 star reviews I expected a lot better. I can see leaking once in a while if it is not latched properly, but this thing does not keep the water out at all. At best it only acts as a theft deterrent for what's inside. As a parent of 3 active kids we are constantly going to outdoor games and events. The chairs we keep in the truckbed are wet.... and that is unacceptable. It should keep things dry and puddle free. 2ndly the metal brackets have started rusting and leak rust from the top of the bracket on the tail gate down the tailgate to the bed causing a nice red residue all over the tailgate. This is also unacceptable.

Easy install for 1 person, even easier if you have a friend give a hand. Fit and finish is top notch. Weather tight seal. Easy open and close with 1 hand. I am more than happy with this cover

I like how easy it was to install this cover and it looks so stream line on my truck, F150.

High quality, but having 2 people for the install sure helps. Just allow about 2 hours for the install.
