I don't understand the properties of ptfe -- is this product safe to use on a drinking water storage tank's outlet fittings?

PTFE is used for sealing and lubricating properties for both assembly and disassembly. Using a threadsealant such as this can help prevent galling when fittings are removed in the future. This product has not been tested or certified to NSF 61 certification for potable drinking water applications. However, we do offer anaerobic threadsealants that are certified to NSF 61 for potable drinking water if this is required.

Will this be resistant to gasoline?

It is Teflon so I would think it would be resistant to gasoline

Teflon paste

This is teflon paste and is easy to use on threads . A little goes a long way and will last for years if you do your part .

big jar and Loctite brand = best price and best product

This jar is HUGE compared to other jars - check the size of the jar you get because a picture can make a 1 oz jar look like a gallon. As for the product, it is loctite and I know the brand and it is genuine. There are so many brands, they probably all the same or very similar, but this is legit and it is exactly what I needed
