Great Product
This product works. It really strips off dirt and gloss on multiple surfaces reducing or eliminating the need to sand. I am very happy I discovered it :)

Less Messy and Time Consuming than Sanding
I am currently expecting my first baby with my husband. When we found out, I knew immediately that we had a lot of work to do around the house prepping for baby. Our house was built in the 50's and there's a lot of natural wood, heavily lacquered trim and hollow core doors. Previous owners had painted some trim white, some doors white, and I knew I wanted all of the trim white. I also read that you could update your home and make it look more expensive if the doors were painted black.I can only be around low odor, zero VOC paint. Behr makes a primer and paint in one that is just that. I bought Polar Bear for the trim and Carbon for the doors.I used the Krud Kutter deglosser on the trim and the door. I did read through several reviews before I used it. I rubbed it on the wood surfaces with a Scotch Brite scrubbing pad. The trim was a little tricky, especially in the grooves. It does clean grime off as well so I wiped everything down with a damp microfiber cloth. It took a 3-4 coats of the white because wood grain would show through. The door was coated almost in 1 coat, second coat for touch ups. This was much easier and less messy than traditional sanding and does a good job. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it says "non toxic" but there's warnings not to get it on your skin or in your eyes. When I think non-toxic, I think I wouldn't have to wear gloves to use it. There is no smell, I did have open windows and a fan going for precaution, but I didn't notice any side effects of bad fumes. It does dry quickly and can be painted soon after application.

Does What is Says it’ll Do, Strips Easily by Spray On
I mixed this in a spray bottle and used it to take the glass coat off my kitchen cabinets so I could paint them. It worked way better than I thought it would. I used gloves and a clean white towel/rag and sprayed it on and wiped my cabinets. Great stuff! It also took all the grime off my cabinets that were above my stove!

Great for paint prep on stained wood, and just cleaning grime before hand.
Way better than TSP products. With TSP the wood bleeds through and turns while paint yellow, with Gloss Off it cleans the surface and really gets rid of a lot of stain left on the surface as well as the top coats so when you’re ready to paint it’s all “matte” and a great surface for paint adhesion.I wish there was more because you need the rag really saturated so if you have a big project you’ll need at least 2.5 of these or more. I used mine for wooden baseboards, window trims, and more so I used 2 total. Maybe I was using too much? But I loved this stuff.

Great product
Love this product! I am in the process of painting some of my wood kitchen cabinets. I read that this would clean the built up grease and prep before painting. It did exactly what I needed! Easy to use. Very pleased and will definitely buy again.

Great Cleaner, But Didn’t Remove Gloss
The media could not be loaded. I really wanted this to work, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to the “gloss-off” name. It worked well as a general cleaner, but didn’t remove the gloss finish at all. You can literally see me in the video double-checking the bottle to make sure I wasn’t missing a step. I ended up giving up and grabbing a couple bottles of acetone from Dollar Tree instead. Might be fine for light prep, but not if you actually need to degloss.

What should it be used for?
well, it did help a little while I installed an RV ceiling exhaust fan so I needed to remove the old sealant tape but this stuff did help a very little bit, but I had to use my fingers and a putty knife mostly, so, I'll keep it around for other problems, perhaps a different use is it order,
