Finally, a camera with no subscription required!
I've switched to use Eufy cameras exclusively because they don't require a monthly subscription. This model doesn't have a battery, so it needs to be plugged in and powered up to function. However, beyond that, it's a great camera. It connects with the Home Base, which allows some pretty advanced (facial recognition) notifications. It has live viewing, and with the base, can record for weeks (depending on how many other cameras you use). The camera also has some internal memory, though I've not used it so I can't speak for how long. It can also be set to only record detected motion, rather than continuously.I've yet to have any performance issues, so I'm overall very happy with this camera. It does everything it should, without any fuss or recurring cost.Setup is also pretty easy. The app walks you through everything and it's mostly scanning a QR code.

Added to existing system and works great
We have an existing outdoor eufy system and just wanted another camera in our garage.Since there are outlets everywhere, this seemed a logical choice as an easy add on.It was.Set up, connection and video clarity is fantastic and easy. The only minor issue I had was setting it in place because the location of and the way the power cable protrudes from the bottom area of the camera does not allow a full range of angle positions sitting in the base. I have a high ledge that I sat the base on so with the base sitting flat, that limited how much I could rotate the camera. I could have wall mounted the base, but didn't want to screw into the drywall. The view coverage is more than adequate, and I fully understand this was fully my specific situation that required a little more fiddling than most other locations would need.Video is clear, crisp and trigger response is quick.

Great camera at a great price!
Installation was easy and since I already had the Eufy app for my door lock, it was very simple to just add my new camera to it. It has amazing video quality…much better than my old Nest camera that it replaced. And best of all, there’s no subscription fee!

Great wired Camera (with a few flaws)
I like that this E220 camera is wired with about 20ft length wire. Easy to install and connect to my smart phone. Does ALL that they advertised and says it will. You can review all day recording and with motion detected event logs simply with a press of a button (backward/forward) when in "Playback mode" (a feature which I really like a lot).My only complaints was/ is still :1.) Magnetic attachment to metal plate screwed to wall. No sense of secured installation (can't really stop anybody from stealing/taking the camera if they wanted to regardless of screwed on or NOT... but at least a screwed on installation would make them work for it). I installed mine outdoor at over 8 to 10ft high for that peace of mind.2.) Activity zone have not been working as they say/claim. Anything that moves in the Frame is detected, regardless of zone settings, causing nuisance.3.) In "Live" view. You hear noise (static/white noise) when sound mode is turned on, "Live" view and/or "recorded". (unless muted)4.) When away (not within WiFi range) there's issues with wifi- to- cellular data transfer, choppy and freeze frame. (not sure if this is also a mobile carrier issue). Within WiFi range (at home) it works great.Updates on new issues:5.) 2k quality, not quite so but upgraded 1080P.6.) (another notable issue) automatic switching (transitioning) between light to night vision causes camera to blackout for a sec. It's like the camera had to blink for a couple of seconds to adjust to darkness. But it would also causes an alert trigger of motion detection. This can be a great camera if only I/you can ignore those flaws.

5 Star camera no longer. WARNING: DO NOT BUY right now.
This used to be an amazing camera for what you got. Sharp image, quick, fluid footage and easy peasy mounting. However, a recent update has turned this into a nightmare and I can no longer recommend it at all.TL;DR - If you update this camera to BionicMind (in the most recent FW update sent out around April 2025 2.0.8.0) and if goes offline, it will never come back online, it's dead - software bricked. Get a warranty replacement or prepare to buy a replacement camera.Explanation: Eufy introduced FW 2.0.8.0 recently, which updates the camera to be able to utilize not only the storage in the HB3, but also BionicMind AI. Those with the HB3 have generally been quick to switch over because BionicMind is better than the Edge AI in the camera. However, there's currently a bug that causes the camera to go offline. Once it goes offline, it will not come back online. It is essentially software bricked because for security purposes, Eufy introduced firmware (software embedded in the camera) that made it so this camera cannot be factory reset back in December of 2022. Before now, there was no reason to factory reset it, but due to this new FW, it cannot see the Wifi network after it goes offline. So, you'll do what you need to do like power cycle, and then you'll delete it from the app and try to factory reset it but it will never factory reset. Once you try to re-add the camera you'll notice that it will never be able to pick up a wifi signal. In summary, 2 issues have been compounded; the bug causing the camera to not detect wifi and factory reset functionality being removed previously. Had the device been able to be factory reset, you'd have been able to set it back up and not connect to HB3, just use it as it could be, previously, with the microSD card or Eufy cloud.Symptom: Once you switch to HB3, camera may work for hours, days or even weeks but once it goes offline you'll notice the blue light blinking. If you power cycle and it does not come back online, that's it, it's been bricked.Fix/Workaround: There's no fix as of April 11, 2025. There's no way to downgrade the FW currently and Eufy has said that it won't be possible. All I can do here and now is warn owners and potential buyers of this camera to NOT switch over to BionicMind at the moment. This ONLY pertains to 2.0.8.0 currently, but due to the nature of this issue, I would not buy this camera right now at all. If you do or did buy it, it you really want to keep it, set it up to connect to the router, not the HB3, but again, I would return it and get some other Eufy product...(E330 Pro is great if you need an outdoor device or the E30 Indoor PTZ for indoor or enclosed areas like porches, etc).I'm sure Eufy will introduce FW to fix this eventually. Good Luck!
