Quality! Ingenious design. I use this all the time. Anything designed by master astrophotographer Alyn Wallace is going to improve your skill at astrophotography.

For the price, the machining and finish quality is outstanding. My only quibble is that the two hinged plates won't lay completely flat when in the closed position. they come very close, but don't quite make it to a true zero flat position. For the money, and in most circumstances this may not be important. (Such as on top of a ball head.)

I needed piece which provide tilt and rotation to my camera. As for tilt the piece has trouble fully closing to reach zero tilt. The locking levers are too small, locking itself is mediocre, not truly tight and requires you to handle the assembly is it was piece of delicate china. Overall some folks may find this piece usable, but not for precision jobs.

I had to install 15mm spacers so that the locking knobs would clear the body of the MSM Rotator.

Great idea, but not so great in the manufacture. Azmuth degrees are put on backwards (due easy reads 270, vs the standard 90). Lever calibrations are next to impossible to to see. Have to fix level angles before attaching to base as lever adjuster is blocked once attached to base.So, I give it 2 stars for the concept of a great little gadget, but I would not recommend anyone buying it in this state. More aggrivation than it's worth. Maybe later if the maker gets it's act together

This "V" mount was designed to be used with Move Shoot Move star tracker to get it at the right angle to be aimed at the north star. BUT has many other uses like being on top of the tripod but used as a ball head with its rotating base and able to be tilted up to get a vertical angle. Or used as a stand for something.
