enhance emotional intelligence in children
I recently purchased the book set "A Little SPOT of Feelings" for my son's 2nd grade teacher to utilize in her classroom for social-emotional learning (SEL). This box set consists of eight books that cover a range of emotions including empathy, frustration, calm, and belonging. I found this set to be a fantastic emotional education tool. Each book focuses on a specific emotion, providing clear and relatable examples that children can easily grasp. The illustrations are vibrant and engaging, capturing the attention of young readers. What impressed me the most about these books is their ability to encourage empathy and understanding. They promote acceptance and teach children how to navigate and express their emotions in a healthy way. The language used is simple yet effective, making it accessible for both early readers and those who might be struggling. I highly recommend "A Little SPOT of Feelings" as a resource for teachers and parents looking to enhance emotional intelligence in children. It can serve as a valuable addition to any classroom or home library, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for children to thrive.

Fantastic with 3rd & 4th graders too!
These are fantastic to use with students; even those above the "recommended" ages of 4-8. In fact, I almost didn't get them because of the listed age range. I'm using them with some 8-10 year olds. Some of the students are on the autism spectrum, some have ADHD, and some have dyslexia. They've been helpful to identify emotions and think about when we experience them. We don't read them straight through. We read 2-4 pages at at time, with discussion, writing, and planning included. My students REQUEST to read these! I saw one 3-star review that dinged them because the "stories" were hard to follow. Another said they were too wordy for the recommended ages. I don't think you get as much out of them if you simply race through them and read them. If you're an educator, the author has supplemental materials on TPT that may be worth checking out.

Well thought out book series - Highly recommend!
I have been buying kids' self help and feelings/emotions book for years now and I have purchased every single highly reviewed book. Actually I have a whole library of them. ..So when I say these books are special I am absolutely serious. My 10 year old will not stop reading these, and we have both gained simple and useful vocabulary to discuss feelings and emotions because of these fun and entertaining yet highly informative books. Daine Alber has done her due diligence in not only understanding the psychological concepts, but has made sure to offer realistic solutions to the emotional issues in the most comprehendible way possible, with lovely and on-point illustrations. The author explains in simple terms: 1. The difference between feelings and emotions, and the importance of each one in our lives. 2. That having different feelings and emotions are normal, and one can have more than one feeling at the same time. 3. Each feeling or emotion is described clearly with illustrations, the colors and words. 4. Facial expressions are discussed 5. Related body reactions are discussed 6. Solutions and tips on how to manage the feelings/emotions are discussed 7. There is an extra bonus activity in the end 8. The books give the adult and children the correct words to explain their feelings and emotions, making it a wonderful solution for children who have difficulty finding words to explain their challenges, or parents/adults who aren't sure how to discuss the topic. I have both the Feelings and Emotions sets. And if Daine Alber continues to put out books like this, I will purchase every single one that comes out. I am extremely excited about these and highly recommend these books to any parent, teacher, therapist, coach, and namely anybody in any career that deals with children. An absolute must have!

All the feelings
I gifted these books to a friend whose daughter was struggling with anxiety. She loves reading all the feelings. I had one of these books for my children as well and they have great techniques and are relatable for children. They're also fun to read. A great find.

Amazing ways to explore feelings for children
My 7yr old and I are having a blast with these books. I got them for his birthday and he told me the just other night how happy he was that he got this book set for his birthday! It was so relieving to hear because I was worried he might be turned away from the idea of getting a BOOK set about FEELINGS. But it’s actually been such an amazing addition to our family, he asked me multiple times to make the frustration flip coin the day after we read the frustration book, when i did he colored both sides and even cut a cardboard circle for the middle to “make it stronger” The belongings book bingo template has also been fun and such a good way to teach him how to have more confidence in making conversation!! So good for teaching emotional intelligence.

Good to use for SEL curriculum in the classroom
I bought these books to use in the classroom so that I can teach my students about how to regulate their feelings and emotions. They seem to be really interested in them and I use the ideas presented at the back of the book to come up with hands on activities that go along with the story

Great addition to spot of emotions
We've had little spot of emotions for years and love the approach of accepting feelings, providing perspective, and including a variety of coping skills. little spot of feelings follows the same approach and is a very well rounded set.
