Excellent, attractive, useful doormat.
The "waffles" of the waterhog doormats create a unique way to trap debris, grass, etc. Junk stays on the mat markedly reducing the mess that can be tracked into your home. Got a waterhog on both sides of the door-smaller for inside (light tan) and a much larger black on to create a good landing outside (This one). They keep things clean.Note: There is something really interesting about the design of these mats. They trap dirt & debris on the mat; does not go on your floor. Requires a high powered vacuum cleaner sometimes to get off all the dirt-it is so effectively trapped. The Alaskan winter is still a few months off as of this writing (Sept) and the summer light has gone, but we fully expect it to be a useful protection against the wind, snowdrifts, ice & what have you. (No moose at the door, please).Seriously, we are very pleased with this purchase and expect it will do well for quite awhile. Will update in the spring......Update 4.3.13: Snow is still on the ground here in Alaska, but it is receding. Today a balmy 42 degrees-Spring has arrived. This doormat did very well through the slush snow ice & wind. No complaints. Mat still looks new.

Absorbs tons and tons of liquid and catches 75% of my med/lg dog's muddy paw prints
I highly recommend this product for anyone with pets, I am going to buy another to catch a few more feet of my dog's entrance. This rug is great for snow, mud, and rain type conditions. One morning I didn't get to the door fast enough to let my dog outside, he was nice enough to pee on this rug and not my carpet. Not only did the urine not splash about, but it also held it all from ever seeping into the carpet. It is easy enough to clean in the bathroom shower or outside with the hose. I hug my over the fence and in 3 hours it was completely dry. LOVE THIS RUG!

Excellent
Purchased this mat to replace an older winter mat that was done. The last mat endured 6 nasty Cleveland winters. The mat itself is beautifully constructed and the quality is excellent. We have already had a few snow storms this year and it keep the snow out of our home and floors dry inside. We actually use two of these mats. One on the porch and one in the entryway. We also have two dogs, and by the time they run across both mats, their paws are dry. Long and short, these mats work and they look great. I don't know how I would get through winter without them.

Very good product!
This is a very well made product. If your looking for a very thick rug that will literally grab the crap out of the cracks of shoes and lay flat with no wavy stuff going on around the sides, then rest free and purchase this one.

nice product
We purchased this to go inside our Basset hound's doggie door in our new home. The yard has been getting pretty muddy with its sparse grass and when it rains this rug does absorb all water. But maybe it's because of the dog's huge paws, but we still have to clean them with a couple of towels to keep him from carrying mud onto our new carpet. For average dogs this rug might catch more dirt. However, it does hold up to its claim of holding onto water, just not so much the mud.

LOUSY winter, rain and, wind, and COLD
For all of you who live in the North, I know I sound like a winter wimp....because I am! Our family was having a big event a cold month ago in TEXAS, and I needed a heavy duty rug to mop up the leaves, wet shoes, and dirt. This Waterhog works great. I have no problem at all vacuuming up the dirt and leaves. The rug is large so measure carefully so your own rug will fit. YOU have measurement choices so think about the size you want. Excellent purchase!

We love it!
We purchased two of these to replace some old rubber mats that were at the end of their useful lives. The water hogs do a fantastic job of keeping dirt outside, and trapping water. These two factors reduce the cleaning time inside of the building. We generally clean them weekly with a quick sweep of a broom, and shake them out once a month. They have held up well thus far, and are worth every penny in my opinion.
