I wish I would have done this sooner! But I got lucky. I have a Genesis Coupe 2012 with a small fin on the trunk. I knew the support struts where giving out when the trunk came down on my head. But it wasn't too bad so I didn't do anything. That was 5 years ago. The other day I had the trunk completely open and a strong wind blew it shut! Thankfully no body parts were in the trunk! Fingers could have been chopped. No time to react. So got online and found these perfect fitting replacement parts. Two minutes each to replace! Crazy simple! I did have to cut a slit in the loose fitting lining to access the fitting attached inside the trunk. No big deal. What a difference with the new struts! One year guarantee. For $22 I don't care if I have to replace them every year! So much safer now! The lid goes up with a gentle push and slows down into a rigid fully open position.
