How big of an ice block is needed?

Ideal results are obtained by using a 3x3x3 inch piece of ice.

Does the press have to be warmed before use, or between uses?

It doesn’t need to be warmed but you will notice it will slow down the process if you’re trying to make a lot of diamonds. First one will work very quickly at room temp. I used it to make about 50 for a cocktail event so I used a torch to keep it relatively warm to keep the process moving.

Could I make diamonds in advance of a party and store them for a few days?

Never thought of that, but I bet if stored correctly that would be an awesome idea!

What size is the ice cube that you need

Minimum of 65mm (corners of diamond shape), maximum of 83mm (width of guide posts). And note, this is a really well designed ice press. Enough mass to get the job done, excellent drainage, beautiful shape. I've used in 6-7 times now and am very happy with it.
