PIFCO UK Tourist Adaptor Plug, UK Version

It's a plug and it works. Not sure how I can spread out a review of a plug for a full paragraph really. Perhaps I can take this opportunity to comment on the idiots who respond to Amazon questions with "I'm sorry, I don't know". I spotted a question below about whether this plug takes a certain type of pin and someone has answered "I'm not technically minded so I don't know". If you don't know, then don't bother answering!BTW, I bought this for an American two-pin and it's a good fit. Tight, won't fall out, which is what I need because I wanted a permanent solution for my adapter.And look, in the end my review made it to three paragraphs!

I may have got a bad item but I was unable to insert a US two pin plug into this. The plastic guards that are supposed to slide out the way when you insert a plug were jammed solid. This is a common hassle since these socket guards were designed to be used with a UK three pin plug, with the top pin forcing the bottom two socket guards to move out the way and allowing the bottom two pins to slide into the socket. Without that action, all too often the socket guards to varying degrees prevent easy access for a US plug.

Slightly misleading description and photo. We actually received a Pifco plug as opposed to Eurosonic and a different shape to what's shown in the photo. Pretty hard to insert a 2 pin plug into.In fact at first didn't think a 2 pin plug would go in as there's white plastic which appears to block the holes. Was in Asda tht evening and ended up buying a 2 pack Status adaptor (which actually looks more like the photo on Amazon than what we received). Did the job for same price per plug.Was about to return this plug when I read through more reviews and found others saying that you really do need to push very firmly to get the 2 pin plug in. So tried that and hey presto it worked. Once in the 2 pin plug is securely held.Overall does the job but marked down for misleading headline description and photo and being somewhat hard to push in and we now have 3 plugs instead of 1...hey ho!

Ok I bought a cannon camera from the USA when I visited, a really great deal !! But ofcourse once I travelled back to the uk the charger was 2 pinned (American plug) I thought I would just go online and buy a UK cannon Charger..... Yes they sell them, but the cost was astronomical, only an idiot would purchase one to be honest. I then came across this american to UK adaptor. Purchased it and it works a treat... Only fault was it took quite a while to arrive, but it was cheap, to British standard and works a treat !!

I bought a new printer that has a 2-pin plug on it (thanks HP!), and whilst it can be persuaded to fit a 3-pin UK wall socket, I wanted to be a little more responsible. It clearly wouldn't fit a shaver socket, so I crossed my fingers and bought this adaptor, and it worked a treat.There do seem to be different pictures of this adaptor, but the one I had was almost round with three round holes on the face to accept different plug formats. I can't tell you which ones it does and doesn't work with, but it certainly works with 2-pin US plugs, and it doesn't require any messing around with screwdrivers.
