We have a picky dog when it comes to toys, but he loves this one. He carries it around the house with him wherever he goes, and when he does stop and chew it, it has held up very well so far - no holes, no chunks missing or pieces hanging off after two weeks of mauling. I would categorize him as a tough chewer, so . . . So far so good and would definitely recommend. I will be purchasing other toys in the line.

My dog instantly fell in love with the project hive ball and keeps it by his bed (see image). It seems more durable than a lot of dog toys. I think one reason my dog prefers it to other balls is the color. My vet friend said that dogs are color blind to red and green but see yellows and blues more vividly. So if you throw your dog a green tennis ball or wven a red ball, it just blends in with grass, whereas dogs see this yellow color very vividly. I think the makers of these project hive dog toys must have thought about that when they chose the shade of yellow for their dog toys. At the end of the day, this is just a dog ball, but I think the combination of the yellow color, durable material, and geometry (causes an erratic bounce) make it better than any other dog ball that I have tried with my dog! I will definitely buy and try some of their other dog toys.

This ball is holding up pretty well. The dog loves this ball and runs almost twice as fast to get it over other toys. He can sit and chew it with out me worrying about it being destroyed in 10 minutes. I don’t think it would stand up to unsupervised chewing though. As soon as a tooth got into the crack I think it might split. Well have to get a new one though. The dog loves it too much. It also just looks cool.

I purposely purchased this chew toy for "large" dogs, and I don’t think of my dog as hard chewer. He is a 1 year old Golden and ended up chewing off pieces on one of the ends to get to a treat that was stuck in the middle. Luckily I caught this, but I believe he ingested a small piece. The other pieces I was able to recover. Since I purchased in April of this year, there's no way to contact the seller to notify them of the issue and to get a refund. I would not buy these again personally, which is too bad because it was advertised as a chew for a "large" dog with higher chewing capacity.

This is really cool. It bounces where a dog is not sure where it will go, so it excites them during play more. It is not perfectly round, so my 5 labs can't project exactly where it will land. It also floats in the pool and is a perfect large dog mouth size. The only draw back is it is not completely dog chew proof, but it is still safe in that it will not come apart in chunks to cause intestinal blockages, but it's "skuffed up by teeth marks" and not pretty anymore. It's not an extreem kong, but those don't float and drive me crazy getting it out of the pool and the dogs don't like them as much.... So this is nearly perfect.

My review is very similar to Greg O's review. My dogs love the project hive balls. *Favorite to play fetch. *Perfectly sized to fit in their mouths, so they can run around the yard and tease each other. And....amazing to me.... they can catch these balls in their mouths. (My puppies are ~70# each) *Seems very durable, yet pliable. One of my pups is a chewer. No noticeable dents in these balls (after owning for ~ 3-4 months). *Easier for puppies to spot bc it is yellow. (Dogs see yellow and blue colors most vividly). *Unusual geometry (causes an erratic bounce) *Easy to clean with soap and water (or wash in the dishwasher) *Love that it's made in the USA and that this company gives back to the world to save the bees. * Five stars: Definitely recommend.

Our border collie loves this frisbee. We do too—after months of daily use, it is in still in perfect condition. It is very durable and throws well.
