Ranger Ink Tim Holtz Distress Stains: Victorian Velvet

Great product, goes on easily and dries quickly. However, may want to apply a couple coats if you are putting it on wood. Wear rubber gloves, and varnish with at least two coats of clear polyurethane when completely dry. It also blends beautifully with other colors of Tim Holtz stains, if you add them at around the same time. If you add multiple colors of stain spritz with water to form gorgeous watercolor patterns, dry, and varnish. This particular color is lovely, although bit more on the blue side than a purple, but I use it a lot.

I decided to try Antique Linen to give papers an aged look, because I had trouble getting some papers to absorb coffee or tea stains. This stain is fantastic! It has stained every paper I've tried it on: plain copy paper, mixed media journal, watercolor paper, etc. I was also able to create a stained wood look with the way it "stripes" across the page. Very versatile!

Great product but slow to ship.

I am a big fan of these distress stains. I use them for my mixed media art and journaling and really recommend them. Just another neat way to add color to your work and the colors offered are amazing!

This was fun to use. And easy. Comes with an applicator built in - you just make dots and connect them. More stain yields darker color. Less stain lighter. Or, just put a bit of water on it. I used it for the altered mouse traps project and it worked beautifully. As for a larger project, you might want a different product as this is a small bottle.

This is a beautiful stain, but I don't particularly care for the applicator bottle which makes it a little cumbersome and time consuming to apply.

I liked the fact I could order individual bottles instead of having to buy a multi-pack like I do in the craft stores in my area. REALLY loved the color. Works well on the wood that I used it on.

I've given up with the ink pads. These are more durable.
