Is most of this pen fabricated in metal or plastic?

The pen is metal & the part where the ink goes is plastic so it's a little top heavy but you'll get used to it!!!

what kind of refill does this take? Does this pen come with a converter?

I ordered the refills that the pen company makes and are available on Amazon. I do believe it is able to convert to a refill system. Good luck. Great pen.
