Great r4i stick.
Worked great and found an r4i firmware update from ace3ds plus firware. Now I'm playing all my favorite games! Although it's not the original r4i, there are other firware updates you can use for the r4i wood version.

Would recommend
I've bought a 2024 and 2025 rev. of this cart, and have no complaints. WoodOS is plenty usable and there are more themes you can find. Games play and save just fine (I've not noticed any issues). Really good value for a flashcart.

Get the right firmware
Works great, highly recommend getting ace3ds firmware, not the bull crap website they say on the card box. all the other ones on guides r so outdated, save the time I did wasting trying out random YouTube guides. It’s as easy as drag and dropping the files into the micro sd card then just put it in ds from there. Also make sure to get a microsd card separately!

Love this thing! The usb piece broke though
Love this thing, but the set up is all over the place. Once you find the right kernel and software. Took me a couple nights to figure it out and get it working properly, but if you're good at this stuff then should be easy. Just do your research and look at forums. The usb Sim part is garbage though, it broke kn like 2 days.

A very good R4!
R4 Card worked great!! I'm not sure if there are any issues with the time bomb, but I was able to easily install Twilight menu with the firmware found on the Twilight menu website. Was fast and played all my games excellently.

Can Confirm Operation
A lot of firmware will fail to boot. Search for "Ace3ds Wood R4 v1.62" and you'll find it. Should be 2.5mb zipped.

Not working
The wood kernel never loaded. I tried several times even had someone else try and it’s not working. At least my ds works fine

Works well once kernel is installed
The link printed on the cartridge is no longer active, so I had to do some internet searching in order to find the kernel that works with this R4 card. I'll share how to get to it on here for those who can't find a working link: Search "flashcart guides" on Google and it should be the third link, with "sanrax" in the link address. Click on that and navigate to the "Ace3DS+/X & R4iLS" using the side menu under the "Cart guides" tab. Follow the install directions for the 1.62 kernel version and you're ready to go. I do have some trouble with certain games not wanting to load up (haven't figured that out yet), but beyond that, everything works as intended.

Works perfectly. Not much more to say about it. Still using it today. The USB stick was useless, but still nice they included it I guess.

Opens up your nds to be able to play downloaded games. First thing is you will need a microSD card 32gb or smaller. Go to r4-sdhc.com and click on the R4 card that matches your cards design. Then select the card that best matches what you have. Download that and extract the files. Copy and past those files onto your micro sd. For games check out Vimms lair and download whatever games you want. Then extract the gamesname.nds file and drag that into you micro sd cards root. Done. Enjoy!

This flashcard works perfectly. BUT, the default firmware the packaging tells you to install has very poor compatibility. I recommend installing Twilight Menu instead.
