Gone are the days that you have to open your doors and windows down after cooking. This humidifier clears all the food aroma in the home.It’s a perfect product for the foregoing reasons.

I’ve been in need of a quality air purifier for some time. And I found it in the Shark HE601. Ive been using Shark vacuum cleaners for years now, and I’ve been pleased with them, so when I discovered Shark is building air purifiers, I knew it would be a quality product. I’m asthmatic, and I’m always looking at ways to remove anything that can trigger an attack. I put the highest rated filter in my air conditioner/furnace I can get as well as cleaning and dusting. So, a quality air purifier is a must. I bought two of these air purifiers. One for my bedroom and another for the living room. Each room being on opposite sides of the house. First, set up is easy. From unboxing to running was 5-10 minutes. Second. They work! As it turned out, my timing for testing these couldn’t have been better. There’s a big fire 100 miles from here and the whole valley I live in is full of smoke from that fire.I turned the units on, and each indicated an air quality of 90% clean. I turned fan speed to 3 (Best for allergies) and within an hour each unit indicated air quality of 100%. I then set the unit to auto. It allows for the unit to adjust as needed for continuous monitoring and cleaning, if needed. The air quality hasn’t dropped below 99% clean inside my home. And I can tell the difference. My eyes are not burning like they were before. And no sneezing. I haven’t sneezed once inside my home after getting these.Plus, they’re quite. On fan setting 1 I can’t hear it unless I’m close to it, and nothing is making noise such as a TV. At 4 it’s no louder than a fan one might use inside their home.Speaking of fans, This unit has 6. They pull air from the backside of the unit through the filtration, and out the sides. Hence the reason the unit is not against the wall and sides must be clear.The filter is easily changed and should last 4400 hours. The unit counts down the filter life. I haven’t been able to locate new filters yet, but, it’s a Shark. I suspect they will become available before I need a replacement filter as Sharks is a pretty reputable company. I suspect lack of availability has to do with the short time this model has been on the market.This unit is controlled by the instrument panel located on top of the unit or a remote control only. It does not connect to the internet via WiFi. No app to use. Though that might be nice, it wasn’t a requirement for me.All in all, a great air Purifier. I doubt you’ll be disappointed. I know I wasn’t.

A fine product. Cleans the air quickly and effectively. My filter lasted 18 months. But be careful re: knock-off filters. The one I tried was cheaper, but hardly cleaned. Shark's website says their replacement filters were "out of stock" every time I tried, but then I called them and they ordered the new filter.

I am hoping this review is helpful to anyone who is thinking of buying this or has already bought it. This air filter does function well but there are some things you should know. To paint the picture, i live in a studio/1br apartment. The only door is to the bathroom, so everything is for the most part open flowing air. Our neighborhood is on a cliff facing NYC and there is a lot of construction in our area. We also only have 2 windows at the front of the apt and 1 at the back. Lastly we are 2 adults with 2 cats. This apartment generates a lot of dust and hair. I bought this air filter with the 6 fans to help clear the air in this large open space. After using it for more than a month... i have learned quite a bit. First, the sensor is pointless. It will mostly say 100% air quality. The actual sensor is not where the air passes through, so in my opinion this will never be accurate. 2nd, i dont think the filter that comes with the system is effective. After using it for a month with the original filter, it barely collected any dust. I dropped a few clumps of dust by the vents and could confirm it was not sucking in the air even at the highest setting. Out of frustration, i took out the filter and decided to cut out the top layer of it which seemed to have too much of a smooth quality for a filter. Afterwards, the air sucking quality dramatically changed. I have been using it without the top layer for a week and as you can see in the picture, this has gathered A LOT of dust in just a week. The black circles are just some filters i had on hand for a project. Some tips: 1- if there is a thin layer on your filter, consider cutting it out and using it without this quastionable sheet. 2-Move the filter to different rooms based on the amount of activity in that room. I mainly hang out in my bedroom, but will move it when i am cleaning a specific area of the home. 3- you may want to add wheels to make this easier. 4- have the back vents facing the room. Who cares about the screen when the number always says 100. I care more about having clean air and maybe you do too. 5- I also found that home depot sells air filter replacements in different dimensions. Dont worry about buying these expensive ones and use those for the replacement. You can also find the charcoal filters in different sizes on amazon.I was unsure at first but i like the system now. The sound on the highest setting is a bit loud. I only have it on the highest setting when im cleaning or overnight for white noise and i keep it on the lowest during the day. The remote is pretty convenient for these adjustments from bed.
