Are the magnets sealed inside the blocks?

Yes the magnets are inside the plastic. Excellent product. My grandsons love them

What is the size on the basic square block?

I am not 100% certain, they were a gift for my granddaughter. My guess is about a 3" square. I will stay that this is a wonderful set, they play with it all the time. Usually, to build then knock it down. :-)

Are these compatible with magna tiles or picasso tiles?

Definitely magna tiles but don't know about the other brand
