She always eats really fast so I had to find ways to slow her down without getting her annoyed or irritated because I physically stop her.I was sceptical at first but it turns out these licky matts are really a pretty decent product! It is softer than another one we have, which is for dry and wet food together. At first I thought this mat will be only suitable for wet food, but I found it good also for her dry kibbles as they are very small size. It is made of silicone or soft rubber (I am not sure, but it is very soft) so it is comforting for the cat to chew or lick it when trying to get the food in her mouth. It is very, very easy to clean even with only water! The most important thing is that it really slows down my cat's feeding so it does really has the desired effect. I love this product and can definitely recommend it!

It works fantastic for my cats. This is also great enrichement toy if you put soft food on it and then put it in the freezer for an hour

My dog-owning friend recommended it, and I'd never heard of Lickimats before.Our cat is completely obsessed with food and gulps down everything far too quickly - so the Casper mat is really useful for feeding him wet treats as it really slows him down. I read that licking is soothing for cats, and stimulates happy hormones, so anything that forces him to slow down his eating must be a good thing!For comparison, we timed him eating a tube of his favourite Lick E Lix treat; when served on a little dish as we previously would do, he wolfed it down in less than 60 seconds, but when served in the Lickimat for the first time he took 15 MINUTES to get every last morsel. Result!You'd need to press the wet food right into the grooves and ridges on the mat to get the most benefit; we use a little plastic knife, or you could use a wooden ice lolly stick.*WORD OF WARNING*As mentioned by a few other reviews, if your pet is exceptionally greedy / obsessed with food, you'll need to supervise them using the Lickimat. No doubt caused by the frustration of knowing there's a tiny bit of food stuck in a crevice that their tongue just can't quite reach, I can see why cats would bite and chew the mat! The material is soft and flexible so it's easy to gnaw on - see my last two photos, only a few seconds with my back turned and our hungry boy had already started to nibble the mat 🙄I'd recommend this, for only a fiver it's worth the money, easy to clean and a nice size so it won't look too unsightly on your kitchen floor - but definitely don't leave it there too long otherwise bored cats will undoubtedly try and eat it!

It had never occurred to me that having whiskers makes high sided bowls, possibly, annoying. Good reason to try these. Cat seems perfectly happy with silicone. The patterns stop spillage. My cat is not greedy and has showed no sign of persistence to lick the bits. The surface doesn’t wipe clean - need to brush in water. Probably best for a hungry guzzler. Recommend

Handy to slow my kitten down a bit. She can’t seem to get all the dried food out though. I don’t use them now though as they’re not dishwasher safe so not very handy.

Durable, easy to clean and the cats like it, I would recommend it a lot - one of my cats eats too fast and as she has little teeth, sometimes returns the food… adding more pate style food and a licky mat makes it better for her and enriches the meal time too. This one has deeper ridges.

Fast eating cat absolutely loves it!

This was to slow down the eating of a chubby 5.5kg large breed cat, newly rehomed. He was gulping food and then wailing for more. It has helped enormously, and all his wet food is now served on these. They are non-slip, sturdy and fine to clean- I use an old bottle brush to get the bits out.However, I do think these mats are too small for this size of cat and the food goes everywhere! If your cat is smaller, I would totally recommend.
