These are perfect for beginners and even pros alike. The corded hooks hold a pretty good amount of yarn without issues. The hook once you get the hang of it is deep enough to not have continuous slips. I may upgrade in the future but honestly I don't see the need.

I love this set, especially since I don't Tunisian stitch often. I would have given it 5 starts, but on the attachment points for the long-corded hooks seem flimsy. I am making a long hoodie and the stitches get caught on that point. This doesn't affect the look of the finished product, just more of a preference thing if I were to crank out projects professionally. Otherwise, this is an excellent set for a beginner to moderate craftperson.

It was so easy to use! I didn't feel clumsy and they didn't make my hands cramp.

I bought these crochet hooks on the recommendation of a friend. She did warn me that I would probably have to sand the rough spots on the bamboo hooks, and she was right. After sanding, the hook I am using is sufficient to get the job done, but not a pleasure to work with. It is still fiddly in the work due to the shape, and the cord grips the yarn so I have to push the stitches back and forth. The reason that I am keeping them is that they are inexpensive for the number of hooks you get, so if I am not going to use them frequently, I don't want to invest in an expensive set yet. I haven't tried the aluminum hooks yet, but they look like they will be fine. My project is too long for them, though, so I need the bamboo hook with the long cord. The bottom line - you get what you pay for, but this is an adequate set for beginners and for smaller projects.
