What does the protection plan cover exactly?

I don't know of any protection plan. It's an inside job. Someone at the Amazon distribution center is emptying packages and sending to customers. Check the reviews of the center, multiple people receive empty envelopes. Amazon should do something.

My packet of 3 blades says, on the back at the bottom, "Made in USA".

Dumb question: for cutting nails in joist hangers and joists which would be longest lasting 6 tpi or 9 tpi?

First, per my review, I don't recommend these. Most demo blades I've seen are 6 tpi, but also the teeth are specially set for demolishing work. That said, any metal thicker or harder than a nail, I'd probably go with the 9 tpi.

Will this cut class 200 pvc (0.063" thick) without breaking it? a tpi of 9 seems scary for such thin-walled pipe; i'm thinking 18 tpi would be better?

You are on the right track a finer tooth blade would give you a much smoother cut.
