My 4 year old grandson is very active. He likes to hop and jump like a frog. This was the inspiration behind getting this ball. It was easy to inflate and I didn't have to give him much instruction. You don't have to fully inflate it at the beginning while they are learning how to use it. Soft enough to use inside and durable to use outside. It is easy to clean. He absolutely thinks it is so much fun. Excellent for moving the legs. The handle is wide, so it can be held correctly and safely. I am glad I didn't get the bigger size. A three old will be able to sit on it and bounce. I don't know about jumping.
